This position prepares, matches, mixes, and maintains inks used to produce high-quality pressure-sensitive labels.\nThe ideal candidate has experience working with inks in a flexographic printing or label manufacturing environment and understands the importance of color accuracy, consistency, documentation, and maintaining an organized ink room.\nKey Responsibilities\nMix and prepare inks according to production specifications and job requirements.\nPerform color matching and adjust ink to meet approved color standards.\nUse spectrophotometers and other color measurement tools to verify color accuracy.\nWork closely with press operators to troubleshoot color and ink-related issues during production.\nMaintain accurate formulas and records for ink mixes and color matches.\nPrepare inks for upcoming production jobs to help minimize press downtime.\nMonitor ink viscosity, pH, and other properties as required.\nReturn, identify, and properly store unused and press-return inks.\nMaintain ink inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need reordering.\nHelp reduce ink waste through proper mixing, reuse, and inventory management.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organized ink room and work area.\nProperly label and handle inks, solvents, chemicals, and related materials in accordance with safety procedures.\nFollow all company quality, safety, environmental, and manufacturing procedures.\nCommunicate effectively with Press, Prepress, Quality, and Production personnel.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nPrevious ink technician, ink room, color matching, or printing industry experience preferred.\nFlexographic or pressure-sensitive label printing experience strongly preferred.\nKnowledge of ink mixing and color theory.\nAbility to accurately match colors and make adjustments based on visual and instrument readings.\nExperience with spectrophotometers and color measurement equipment is preferred.\nAbility to read and follow ink formulas, production specifications, and job instructions.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to color consistency and quality.\nGood math, measurement, and basic computer skills.\nAbility to work independently while supporting a fast-paced production environment.\nStrong organizational and communication skills.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\nAbility to regularly lift and move containers of ink and other production materials.\nAbility to safely handle inks and printing-related chemicals while using required personal protective equipment.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment around printing presses and production equipment.\nWhy Join Imprimus Labels & Packaging?\nImprimus Labels & Packaging is a growing label and packaging manufacturer serving customers across a variety of industries.
