This is a hands-on role with meaningful visibility across the organization. You will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and work with cross-functional partners to execute core accounting operations, support the financial close, and help build scalable processes and controls.\nResponsibilities\nManage day-to-day accounting activities, including:Journal entries\nGeneral ledger maintenance\nAccount reconciliations\nBank reconciliations\nAccruals and prepaids\nFixed assets\nExpense reporting\nAccounts payable and accounts receivable support \n\nSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.\nPrepare and maintain schedules and analyses supporting financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.\nReconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.\nPrepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.\nAssist with the preparation of financial reporting packages and management analyses.\nSupport the Senior Accounting Manager in establishing, documenting, and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nHelp ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements.\nAssist with audit, tax, and other external reporting activities by preparing requested schedules and documentation.\n Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager on budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and other financial analyses.\nAssist with accounting-system enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.\nSupport the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, tools, and reporting processes.\nProvide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as the team grows.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions and support financial reporting needs.\nTake on additional responsibilities and ownership as the accounting organization scales.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n4+ years of progressive accounting experience.\nStrong understanding of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting principles.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience supporting monthly close and financial reporting.\nDemonstrated experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\nProficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar systems, as well as Microsoft Excel.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nCPA, CPA-eligible, or working toward CPA licensure.\nExperience in public accounting, including Big Four or regional firm experience.\nPrior experience in a startup, aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or other high-growth environment.\nFamiliarity with accounting-system implementations, process improvement, and automation.\nExperience supporting audits, tax filings, or other external reporting requirements.\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.\nExperience working with ERP systems and integrating accounting data from operational systems.\nDemonstrated ability to document processes and develop effective internal controls.\n\nAdditional Information:\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.\nImpulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
