This role serves as the senior operational resource within the systems team, responsible for maintaining reliability of production infrastructure while driving automation, standardization, and operational maturity.\nThis position bridges daily infrastructure operations and systems engineering by leading complex troubleshooting efforts, executing advanced deployments, and improving platform resilience across hybrid datacenter and cloud environments.\nResponsibilities\nPlatform Ownership & Operations\nOwn day-to-day operation and reliability of assigned infrastructure platforms. \nAdminister enterprise server environments across on-premises datacenters and cloud platforms. \nMaintain Windows and Linux systems supporting engineering and business workloads. \nLead response and resolution efforts for complex infrastructure incidents. \nPerform advanced troubleshooting across compute, identity, storage, and dependent services. \nEnsure systems maintain high availability and predictable performance. \nAdvanced Infrastructure Administration\nLead lifecycle management including upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization. \nImplement infrastructure changes aligned with engineering standards. \nSupport expansion of datacenter and lab infrastructure environments. \nValidate system performance and operational readiness following deployments. \nMaintain configuration consistency across environments. \nAutomation & Operational Improvement\nDevelop and maintain automation to reduce manual operational work. \nImprove system provisioning and maintenance workflows. \nIdentify recurring operational pain points and implement long-term solutions. \nContribute to infrastructure standardization initiatives. \nAutomation and repeatability are expected competencies at this level.\nIncident Leadership & Reliability\nAct as primary escalation point for infrastructure incidents. \nCoordinate cross-team troubleshooting with network and security engineering. \nPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective improvements. \nDrive preventative maintenance and reliability enhancements. \nSecurity & Compliance Alignment\nMaintain infrastructure in accordance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. \nImplement secure configuration baselines and access control standards. \nSupport audit activities and technical validation efforts. \nEnsure infrastructure handling aligns with controlled data and export requirements.\nDocumentation & Technical Leadership\nMaintain accurate architectural and operational documentation. \nDevelop and refine operational runbooks and standards. \nMentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance. \nPromote operational discipline and consistent engineering practices. \n Technology Environment (Representative)\nInfrastructure environments supported by this role include technologies such as:\nWindows Server administration \nLinux server administration\nVMware vSphere or equivalent enterprise virtualization \nMicrosoft Azure and Entra ID \nMicrosoft Intune or modern endpoint management platforms \nEnterprise data storage\nEnterprise backup platforms\nNetworking foundations and troubleshooting\nScripting and automation\nHybrid datacenter and cloud infrastructure supporting engineering and operational environments\nMinimum Qualifications\n3+ years experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments. \nExperience working with Windows Server administration.\nDemonstrated administrative proficiency with Linux systems. \nExperience operating virtualization platforms in production environments. \nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex multi-system issues. \nExperience automating administrative workflows using scripting and IaC.\nStrong understanding of infrastructure dependencies and service architecture.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n4+ years experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments. \nExperience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or lab infrastructure. \nExposure to hybrid cloud deployments and identity integration. \nExperience with enterprise storage and backup systems. \nFamiliarity with infrastructure monitoring and observability platforms. \nExperience operating within regulated or compliance-driven environments. \nOperational Expectations\nParticipation in on-call rotation with escalation responsibilities. \nAbility to support operational events requiring rapid response. \nWork performed within datacenter, lab, and production environments as required. \nCollaboration with Systems Engineers on infrastructure improvements and deployments. \n\nAdditional Information:\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
