This team develops reliable, standardized, and modular hardware solutions that enable rapid testing, vehicle integration, and launch execution.\n\nIn this role, you will guide the team's technical direction, engineering execution, and professional development while working closely with Avionics, Integration, Test, and Launch Operations teams. You'll own the team's priorities, technical standards, and performance, ensuring EGSE hardware meets the demanding requirements of spacecraft development and operations.\nResponsibilities\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of EGSE engineers, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development\nDrive the design and development of electrical ground systems supporting spacecraft integration, test, and launch operations\nEstablish standardized, modular EGSE hardware architectures and reusable components to improve reliability, scalability, and development efficiency\nProvide technical leadership and design reviews for electrical interfaces, communication systems, power distribution, grounding, shielding, and hardware integration\nCollaborate closely with Avionics, Integration, Test, and Launch Operations teams to define requirements and ensure compatibility between ground and flight systems\nManage engineering priorities, resources, and schedules to support program milestones\nOversee hardware fabrication, integration, verification, and deployment, working closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams\nCoordinate with COMSEC and Avionics teams to identify and integrate communications and cryptographic hardware that meets applicable security requirements\nEstablish and maintain high standards for engineering documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), schematics, and design practices\nDrive root cause investigations, resolve technical challenges, and continuously improve hardware reliability, safety, and performance\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline\n5+ years of experience designing, developing, and integrating electrical ground support equipment, avionics hardware, or other complex electrical systems\nDemonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams\nStrong understanding of electrical system design, including power supplies, power distribution, circuit protection, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity\nDeep understanding of electrical communication interfaces and physical-layer requirements, including differential signaling, termination, impedance matching, and protocols such as Ethernet, RS-422, and CAN\nHands-on experience with electrical hardware integration, instrumentation, testing, and troubleshooting\nProven ability to lead complex hardware development efforts and coordinate effectively across engineering teams\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n7+ years of experience in aerospace electrical engineering, EGSE, or avionics integration\nExperience developing standardized, modular electrical hardware platforms\nExperience with data acquisition and instrumentation equipment, such as NI PXI, cDAQ, IFM, or similar platforms\nExperience designing rack-level systems, harnessing, and enclosure integrations for avionics or RF applications\nProficiency with electrical design and CAD tools, including NX for mechanical integration and layout\nFamiliarity with test automation, scripting, and controls software (Python, MATLAB, etc.)\nPrior experience supporting spacecraft integration, propulsion testing, launch campaigns, or integrated vehicle operations\n\nAdditional Information:\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
