This role works hands-on with precision hardware that must perform reliably in launch and space environments, following detailed procedures and strict quality standards.\nResponsibilities\nAssemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanisms including: hinges, latches, deployment systems, actuators, and release mechanisms\nFollow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures for flight and development hardware\nPerform mechanical inspections, torque verification, alignment, and fit checks\nSupport functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting of mechanisms\nDocument build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems\nMaintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware\nWork closely with engineers, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processes\nSupport rework, repair, and root-cause investigations as needed\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\nTechnical background in mechanical systems, aerospace manufacturing, or related field (trade school, military, or equivalent experience).\n3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical assembly\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specifications\nProficient with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches)\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n5+ years of hands-on experience with mechanisms/components working on aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle or defense manufacturing\nFamiliarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments\n4+ years of hands-on experience with mechanism testing (functional, deployment, or life-cycle testing)\nAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs as required\nWillingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or shifts as needed to support program milestones\n\nAdditional Information:\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
