Develop and execute site preventative maintenance activities. The position will also support capital construction and maintenance activities.\nResponsibilities\nAssist in the managing of the technical documentation of the facility including the transfer of all project and design documentation and drawings from engineering/construction companies.\nServe as project manager and/or design engineer on capital projects. Responsibilities include cost estimating, equipment selection and specification (electrical, instrumentation, and industrial control systems), contract bidding, field oversight, start-up, and commissioning.\nProvide engineering support at various aspects of servicing, repair and maintenance of the facility including its comprehensive Distributed Control System.\nMake recommendations for future expansion projects with reference to adequacy, operability, safety, maintainability, etc.\nReview and recommend modifications and changes in the facility’s equipment and/or procedures and coordinate the process of change. Participate in “Root Cause Analysis Studies” and/or “HAZOP Studies” where appropriate.\nAssist in the development of Quality Programs, the Risk Management Program, and the Process Safety Management Program.\nRepresent the terminal with outside agencies and customers as needed.\nWear appropriate PPE for required task, and safely perform job duties\nCoordinates with the Facility Directors.\nPerform these functions and responsibilities not only at Geismar, but other IMTT locations as needed.\nDrive a company vehicle.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instrument Engineering\nSeveral years’ experience in Chemical or Petro-Chemical industry maintenance or design.\nValid Driver’s License\nTWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.\nProfessional Engineering License for the state of Louisiana.\nProgramming experience in DCS (Foxboro I/A), PLC, and HMI.\nSkills and Abilities\nClear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.\nAbility to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.\nAbility to make decisions in a variable environment.\nMust be a team player, responsible, trustworthy, and a leader.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nAbility to self-direct work and problem-solving skills.\nManagement or supervisory experience.\nAdvanced level of computer literacy - Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.\nProfessional safety training.\nHours of Work\nTypical hours of operation are Monday through Friday but can be unusual hours as necessary.\nThis is an exempt, salaried position. The role requires flexibility as business needs require.\nOccasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.\nPhysical and Environmental Demand\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Furthermore, because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies.
