This position will be required to learn and safely operate terminal equipment and perform daily operating functions in conjunction with the loading and unloading activities.\nResponsibilities\nControl and monitor transfers of the bulk liquid fine chemicals stored and handled at the facility. Physically establish connections between the facility’s transfer lines for truck and rail loading and unloading.\nPerform first level mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, filters and loading arms.\nUnderstand printed pump orders, confirm the quantity to be moved is accurate and the paperwork for customer shipments is accurate.\nCapable of wearing a respirator with supplied air and / or other PPE at required locations while performing job duties.\nCapable of participating in the terminal emergency response organization.\nPerform and maintain good housekeeping practices.\n\nEducation and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nKnowledge of terminal operation and procedures.\nValid Driver’s License\nTWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.\nSkills and Abilities\nClear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.\nAbility to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.\nAbility to make decisions in a variable environment.\nKnowledge of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).\nProficient in the use of computer systems.\nHours of Work\nTypical hours of operation are Monday through Friday.\nThis is a non-exempt, hourly position. Employees are scheduled to work assigned shifts within a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays. All hours worked must be accurately recorded, and overtime is paid in accordance with FLSA and company policy. \nOccasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.\nPhysical and Environmental Demand\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
