In-Telecom is growing our Access Control & Security team in Louisiana and looking for an experienced field technician to install and support commercial access control and security camera systems for our customers in the Slidell / greater New Orleans area. This is a full-time, onsite role where you’ll spend most of your time on customer sites running and terminating cabling, installing cameras and access control devices, and making sure every system is tested, documented, and working exactly as promised.
As an Access Control & Security Technician, you’ll:
- Install, wire, and test access control, video surveillance, and related low-voltage security systems on commercial sites.
- Run, terminate, and label Cat5e/6 and low-voltage cabling, and help set up racks, panels, power supplies, and related infrastructure.
- Work closely with project managers and field leads to review drawings, understand scope, and deliver clean, professional installations.
- Troubleshoot issues in the field and make sure each job is properly tested, documented, and handed off before it’s considered complete.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2+ years of hands-on experience with access control, security cameras/CCTV, alarm, or low-voltage cabling work.
- Is comfortable reading floor plans and wiring diagrams and has a basic understanding of IP networking (IP addressing, PoE).
- Takes pride in neat workmanship, clear documentation, and safe work practices.
- Holds a valid driver’s license and is willing to travel within the local region to customer sites.
Experience with platforms like Hanwha, Avigilon, or similar commercial security systems is a plus, as are OSHA or manufacturer certifications-but we’re also interested in strong low-voltage technicians from adjacent backgrounds who are ready to grow in access control and security.
