You’ll learn from colleagues across our studios, ship products that reach thousands or even millions of people and help shape what digital can do for leading organisations in Europe.\nWhat you’ll do \nIn this role, you'll build and maintain the backend services that power our applications. You'll work closely with senior engineers, frontend engineers and DevOps colleagues, who will support you as you take on more ownership and grow your technical skills.\nBuild and maintain backend APIs in TypeScript and Node.js, following secure and clean coding practices.\nContribute to cloud infrastructure on AWS, with guidance from more experienced colleagues.\nWork with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines to help automate deployments.\nApply security best practices (OWASP) in your daily work.\nInvestigate, debug and fix backend issues, and learn how to tackle more complex ones over time.\nWrite tests and take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.\nUse AI tools (e.g. Claude, Codex) in your development workflow to write code, support reviews and work more efficiently.\nKeep learning: stay curious about new backend and cloud technologies and share what you learn with the team.\nWho you are \nSolid knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js (2+ years of experience).\nExperience building REST or GraphQL APIs.\nHands-on experience with at least one relational or NoSQL database (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).\nFamiliarity with Docker; exposure to Kubernetes is a plus.\nSome experience with a cloud platform, ideally AWS, or a strong motivation to learn it.\nBasic understanding of authentication concepts (e.g. OAuth, OpenID Connect).\nAwareness of security best practices (OWASP) and testing.\nInterest in, or some exposure to, messaging systems (e.g. SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka) and DevOps practices like CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.\nGood problem-solving and debugging skills.\nEagerness to learn, take feedback and grow toward more ownership.\nGood communication and collaboration skills.\nYou use AI tools (e.g. Claude, Codex) to support your daily development work.\nYou communicate fluently in English.\nWhat we offer \nJoining In The Pocket means becoming part of a team that shapes the future of our clients’ businesses across Europe.
