For someone who enjoys solving practical problems and seeing their work make a direct difference, in24 offers the opportunity to help shape the technology behind a growing financial-services business.\n\nAbout the role\n\nAs the Technical Operations Specialist, you will keep the technology behind in24’s daily operations running reliably. You will support colleagues, resolve technical issues, administer key business systems, monitor payment and automation workflows, and make targeted improvements to existing code and tools.\n\nThis is an operations role with a technical foundation. in24 is a finance company. Technology is there so that the credit team, the call centre and our distribution partners can do their work. Much of the job is looking at how a process runs today and finding a way to make it run on its own with technology, often with simple tools: a form, a script, a scheduled report, a spreadsheet that fills itself. The rest is keeping systems running and helping colleagues and partners use them. The aim is that technology works quietly in the background and nobody has to think about it. You need to be able to read and write code and to work with Git, but building new software is a small part of the job.\n\nThis hands-on role provides broad exposure to core banking, mobile money, client communication tools, databases, automation, APIs, and internal applications. You will work closely with the in24 Global Technology Head, who leads new development and provides support on more complex technical matters.\n\nVACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT\n\nWe are looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems methodically, and follows issues through to lasting resolution. As in24 grows, you can take on greater responsibility for analytics, automation, new internal tools, and broader technical operations.\n\nIt suits you if you like working with people, get on with things without being told, fix problems with what is already there, and finish what you start.\n\nThis role is not for you if you want to write software all day, you need a team of engineers around you, you find user support and routine checks boring or you only want to work on code you wrote yourself.\n\nSecondment to Urban Greens\n\nPart of your time, up to half at the start, is seconded to Urban Greens, a partner company that shares part of its team with in24. The work is of the same kind: operational systems and automations, user accounts across their systems, and contributing to their Grower Management Platform, a communication and ledger system for their grower community. The split is agreed monthly and the arrangement is expected to be temporary. You remain an in24 employee throughout.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nUser and system support\n\n● Resolve technical issues involving accounts, email, client communication tools, and internal applications, taking ownership through resolution or escalation\n\n● Manage user access across Google Workspace, Musoni, Zoho, and other systems\n\n● Support the central credit team and distribution partners in using Musoni and related field applications\n\n● Monitor and enforce basic IT security and data protection standards across company systems and ensure we are compliant with regulations.\n\nSystems and payment operations\n\n● Administer Musoni, including user accounts, forms, workflows, and product settings\n\n● Monitor Zoho Voice and Africa’s Talking, including access, call routing, recordings, and carrier escalations\n\n● Monitor MTN MoMo and Airtel Money payments, investigating failed, delayed, or unmatched transactions\n\n● Monitor Windmill workflows and payment data in Supabase, resolving or escalating failures\n\nCode and continuous improvement\n\n● Make small, well-tested changes to existing Python code using Git and GitHub\n\n● Document recurring issues and automate solutions where practical\n\n● Assist the Global Technology Head with analytics, reporting, system testing, and new tool rollouts\n\nSeconded time at Urban Greens\n\n● Identify, document and implement operational systems and automations for the Urban Greens team, using existing systems and APIs where possible\n\n● Contribute to the development of the Grower Management Platform, a communication and ledger system for the Urban Greens grower community\n\n● Manage user accounts across Urban Greens operational systems\n\nRequirements\n\nHow you work\n\n● Autonomous and self-driven: you organise your own work and do not wait for instructions\n\n● Creative with the tools at hand: you look for the simplest working fix before asking for a new system\n\n● Patient and clear with people: you can explain a technical issue to a non-technical colleague, in person or in writing\n\n● Comfortable with routine work: user set-up, access checks and daily monitoring are part of every week\n\n● Methodical and persistent: you follow an issue through to a lasting fix, and you know when to escalate\n\n● Based in Kampala or willing to relocate\n\nTechnical skills\n\n● At least two years of professional experience working with code\n\n● Able to read, write and debug Python scripts and SQL queries\n\n● Comfortable with an IDE, Git and GitHub\n\n● Uses AI coding assistants well\n\n● Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience\n\nNice to have\n\n● Experience with a core banking system, CRM, client communication platform, or other business-critical system\n\n● Exposure to mobile money or digital payment systems\n\n● Experience with Snowflake, Supabase\n\n● Familiarity with REST APIs and webhooks\n\n● Ability to manage and configure cloud-based enterprise platforms (Google Workspace) beyond simple access management.\n\n● Familiarity with basic IT security principles, such as access control, data protection, and endpoint security\n\n● Experience with workflow automation and data visualization tools (Tableau is a plus)\n\nHow to apply\n\nPlease send your CV and a short motivation letter only (both in PDF) to , using “Technical Operations Specialist – [Your Name]” as the email subject.
