Are you ready to grow with us?\nJob Title: Industrial Engineer\nDepartment: Product & Manufacturing Engineering\nReports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager\nFLSA Status:Exempt\nSUMMARY\nDrive the organization towards the goal of technical excellence in the areas of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Plans, organizes and controls all tasks associated with the accomplishment of lean manufacturing objectives. Develop plans in the areas of packaging, facility development, and labor studies. Provide technical guidance and ensure state-of-the-art techniques and manufacturing processes are utilized in all production activities.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nPlan and direct activities concerned with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.\nConduct the necessary time studies to ensure that labor standards remain accurate and up to date.\nDevelop work elements and establish takt times for all processes/work elements in the manufacturing process.\nContinuously identify areas where cost savings can be achieved through labor reduction or process improvements.\nMaintain up to date drawings for manufacturing facilities.\nPlan and develop facility layouts for future business and/or expansion.\nConduct the necessary studies and provide the required information on new manufacturing facilities.\nDevelop the proper methodology for container movement within the dock area, warehouse, and within the manufacturing plant.\nApproves packaging designs that adhere to ergonomic guidelines and ensures proper line presentation.\nEnsures all process design and development activities optimize manufacturability through DFM/DFA analysis, and cross-functional team feasibility studies.\nDevelopment of equipment plan by considering value added labor content, appropriate automation level, ergonomics and human factors, operator and line balance, storage and buffer inventory levels.\nSupport manufacturing by effectively addressing all process related issues.\nTraining of production associates and quality engineers for new/ changed processes and process controls.\nQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nExtensive knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing practices.\nKnowledge in various assembly processes and how material flows in and out of the process.\nKnowledge of machine design, sensors, pneumatics, electrical, and machine controls.\nAbility to conduct time studies on assembly processes and the knowledge to interpret the results to make sound decisions.\nKnowledge in various types of packaging containers and material.\nKnowledge in quantifying financial information.\nKnowledge in ergonomics and human movement as they relate to processes, material flow, and packaging.\nUnderstanding of laws and safety regulations and how they affect operators and equipment.\nUnderstanding of logistics, warehouse flow, and transportation of material. (Domestic and International)\nKnowledge of various facility designs along with all the mechanical and electrical systems within a facility.\nCAD skills and knowledge.\nAbility to work as a cross-functional team member.\nAbility to work with customers on various proposals.\nMust be fluent in English\nEDUCATION:\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field.\nAdditional experience related to sunroof technology and/or tier one lean manufacturing development could replace some of the advanced educational requirements.\nEXPERIENCE:\nMinimum of five years in tier one automotive overseeing lean manufacturing or industrial engineering activities. \nProven track record developing effective solutions.\nCOMMUNICATION:\nMust be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
