As an essential contributor to our mission of transforming healthcare, you'll play a leading role in building AI-driven solutions that directly influence clinical research and, ultimately, improve patient care. We’ve already deployed multiple AI use cases in production, and your skills will be crucial in pushing the boundaries of healthcare AI.\nResponsibilities\nIn this role, you'll take on complex challenges that will stretch your abilities and creativity:\nChoose and orchestrate the right models to process and analyze multimodal data\n\nDesign and implement cutting-edge RAG techniques to efficiently handle large medical documents and patient histories\n\nBuild agentic systems to revolutionize key aspects of drug development such as patient recruitment or site selection\n\nWork closely with cross-functional teams (software engineers, product managers, data engineers) to seamlessly integrate AI into our platform\n\nImplement robust and scalable pipelines that meet production-grade engineering standards\n\nHere are some examples of projects you might work on:\nOur prescreening tool: an app relying on the latest reasoning models and visual RAG to accelerate patient recruitment. It's already being used across hundreds of clinical sites to assess patient eligibility at scale. You may find more on this in our publication: https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.15374\n\nOur site selection agent: an agentic assistant coupled with a mathematical optimizer to assist pharmaceutical sponsors in their search for efficient clinical sites and find the right mix of sites for every study\n\nQualifications\nSeveral years of engineering experience with machine learning, data science, or AI at the centre of your work, not alongside it.\n\nYou’ve shipped LLM-based features (OpenAI, Anthropic, RAG setup, agent setup, LLM observability tools etc.) that real users use, and you’ve lived with them afterwards: fixed them when they broke, iterated when they underperformed, watched how people actually used them.\n\nPython proficiency\n\nStrong problem-solving skills\n\nStrong communication skills, oral and written, both English and French\n\nStrong product mindset able to challenge the product roadmap directly with our CPO\n\nKnowledge about LLM’s evaluation challenges\n\nAbility to autonomously deliver clean and production-ready code\n\nGood fits we see often\nML engineers and data scientists who moved into LLM work as it matured.\n\nResearchers who moved into production.\n\nSoftware engineers who went deep on AI and stayed there.\n\nProbably not a fit\nyour AI work has been research, prototypes or POCs with nothing shipped and maintained in production.\n\nyou’ve spent most of your career in software engineering and shipped your first AI feature in the last year.\n\nWhy Inato?\nOur mission is to make clinical trials more accessible and inclusive.
