In this role, you will take ownership of daily general ledger operations, manage semi-monthly payroll processing, oversee AP/AR functions, and partner directly with the Financial Controller on month-end close and corporate financial reporting.\nThe ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote, and asynchronous environment, with strong GAAP knowledge and a desire to take ownership of full-cycle accounting functions.\nKey Responsibilities\nGeneral Ledger & Month-End Close\nPerform day-to-day general ledger accounting, ensure accurate transaction recording, and assist in maintaining overall GAAP compliance.\nOwn key assigned areas in the month-end and year-end close processes, meeting tight reporting deadlines.\nPrepare and post journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and variance analyses.\nMaintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and deferred revenue.\nPayroll & Benefits Accounting\nManage bi-monthly payroll processing accurately and on schedule, maintaining strict confidentiality.\nCoordinate payroll adjustments, new hires, status changes, and state tax withholding setup across remote states.\nReconcile payroll registers against general ledger accounts and support annual payroll tax reporting.\nAccounts Payable & Receivable\nOversee AP operations, including invoice coding, approval workflows, and vendor disbursements.\nManage AR invoicing, customer collections, and revenue application.\nReconcile bank and credit card accounts on a routine basis.\nFinancial Reporting & Compliance\nAssist the Financial Controller in preparing monthly management reporting packages and financial statements.\nSupport budget creation, track department spending, and perform variance analyses.\nCompile documentation and schedules to support internal reviews and external annual audits.\nCollaborate with Finance, HR, and Operations teams to streamline internal processes and automation.\nQualifications & Skills\nExperience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.\n Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).\n Technical Skills:Solid working knowledge of general ledger ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite).\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (pivot tables, complex formulas like VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, conditional logic).\nExperience handling semi-monthly payroll processing systems (e.g., Gusto, Rippling, ADP).\n\nFunctional Knowledge:Strong foundational understanding of US GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting standard workflows.\nExperience with government contracting, project accounting, or digital assets/crypto accounting is a strong plus.\n\nSoft Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous team environments.\nStrong organizational and task-prioritization skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal daily supervision\n\nWhy join us?\nWe operate in a fully remote, high-trust environment and we prioritize impact and delivered results over hours logged.\nWe offer competitive compensation paired with a comprehensive benefits suite, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).\nWe invest in our people through childcare and wellness stipends and dedicated employee assistance resources.\nJoin a thought leader at the intersection of national security and digital assets, working with cutting-edge tech that defines the field.\nInclusion & Equal Opportunity: As a veteran-owned company, Inca Digital thrives on diverse perspectives, specifically across race, gender, neurodivergence, and veteran status, to solve complex data challenges.
