This role sits deep in the engine room of Incard, working daily with backend engineers, platform teams, compliance, and leadership.\nThis role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering or technical background who moved into product, someone who enjoys complexity, precision, and building robust systems that scale.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn a Technical Product Vertical End-to-End\nAct as the founder of your domain (e.g. payments, ledger, integrations)\n\nOwn scope, quality, delivery, and outcomes with minimal supervision\n\nDrive clarity in highly complex, multi-stakeholder problem spaces\n\nProduct Strategy & System Design\nDefine functional requirements, system behaviour, edge cases, and invariants\n\nDesign end-to-end flows across services, APIs, and third-party providers\n\nMake architectural trade-offs in collaboration with senior engineers\n\nDefine success metrics focused on reliability, performance, and correctness\n\nExecution with Backend Teams\nWrite precise product requirements, technical specs, and acceptance criteria\n\nBreak down complex initiatives into clear, executable milestones\n\nSupport engineers daily with fast decisions and clear direction\n\nRun standups and rituals for your squad, keeping momentum high\n\nQuality, Risk & Reliability\nOwn functional QA and end-to-end validation before release\n\nEnsure robustness around failure modes, retries, reconciliation, and recovery\n\nWork closely with compliance, risk, and operations to ensure correctness\n\nAnticipate and mitigate edge cases before they hit production\n\nCross-Functional Ownership\nCollaborate closely with frontend, mobile, data, and customer-facing teams\n\nAlign technical delivery with regulatory, operational, and business needs\n\nProduce clear internal documentation for systems, workflows, and decisions\n\nSupport hiring and help shape your future squad\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n4-7+ years of experience in Technical Product Ownership, Product Management, or Engineering-led product roles\n\nStrong technical background (ex-engineer, technical lead, or highly technical PM)\n\nDeep understanding of backend systems, APIs, integrations, and data flows\n\nExperience owning complex domains such as payments, fintech infrastructure, SaaS platforms, or marketplaces\n\nAbility to write clear, unambiguous specs that engineers trust\n\nComfortable working with ambiguity, trade-offs, and high-stakes systems\n\nHighly organised, detail-oriented, and execution-driven\n\nStrong communication skills across engineering, product, and leadership\n\nNice to Have\nExperience in fintech, payments, cards, ledger, or regulated environments\n\nFamiliarity with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or workflows\n\nExperience working with third-party providers (PSPs, banks, APIs, vendors)\n\nPrevious experience as a backend engineer or tech lead\n\nMindset We Look For\nMini-CEO mentality -
