The power it generates will be transmitted 85 kilometres to a new substation at Cockenzie, in East Lothian from where it will enter the national transmission system. Inch Cape is a more than £3 billion infrastructure project that will make a significant contribution to the UK’s carbon emissions reduction targets. Once complete its 72 turbines will generate enough electricity to power almost half the homes in Scotland.\nSummary of Assignment:\nThe Foundation Engineer is responsible for the structural integrity, performance and lifecycle management of offshore wind turbine foundations and substructures during the operational phase of the windfarm. The role ensures that all foundation assets are safe, compliant, and optimised for performance, supporting maximum turbine availability and revenue generation, while maintaining risks As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) in accordance with UK regulatory expectations.\nLocation: Montrose, (3 days a week in the office, 2 days WFH)\nResponsibilities\nAsset Integrity & Structural Performance\nLead the integrity management of offshore foundations (monopiles & Jackets)\nDevelop and implement risk-based inspection strategies\nAnalyse structural performance considering fatigue, corrosion, scour, and environmental loading\nSupport remaining life assessments and life extension strategies\nReview inspection data (ROV, seabed surveys, NDT) and define remedial actions\nLead or support root cause investigations for structural anomalies or failures\nInspection, Maintenance & Repair (IMR)\nDefine and optimise planned and corrective maintenance programmes for foundations\nSupport offshore campaigns including inspection scopes, method statements, and contractor management\nProvide engineering input into major component replacement or structural repair campaigns\nEnsure all maintenance activities align with O&M plans, consent conditions, and environmental commitments\nEngineering Authority & Technical Governance\nAct as Technical Authority for foundation systems within the asset\nEnsure compliance with applicable standards;ISO 19902 / DNV-ST-0126 / IEC standards\nUK HSE regulations and Offshore Safety Case requirements\n\nInterface with certification bodies and independent verification engineers (IVBs)\nReview and approve engineering change proposals and concessions\nOperational Support to O&M Activities\nProvide real-time engineering support for;Offshore faults and defects\nVessel-based intervention campaigns\nEmergency response scenarios\n\nCollaborate with O&M teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of offshore work scopes\nContribute to work planning, RAMS reviews, and offshore readiness\nData, Monitoring & Digital Systems\nUtilise and develop Asset Management Systems (AMS) and structural health monitoring tools\nInterpret data from;SCADA systems\nStructural monitoring sensors\nInspection and survey reports\n\nDrive predictive maintenance strategies and performance optimisation\nHealth, Safety, Environment & Compliance\nEnsure all activities comply with;Health & Safety Management Systems\nEnvironmental Management Systems\n\nSupport development of the Operational Safety Case\nEnsure risks to personnel, assets, and environment are managed to ALARP principles\nContribute to marine licence compliance and environmental mitigation measures\nCommercial & Stakeholder Interface\nSupport budgeting and cost for foundation O&M activities\nInterface with;Tier 1 contractors and OEMs\nRegulators (e.g. Marine Directorate, HSE)\nInternal stakeholders and shareholders\n\nProvide input into lifecycle cost optimisation and risk-based decision making\nKey Deliverables:\nFoundation Integrity Management Plam (FIMP)\nAnnual Inspection & Maintenance Strategy\nStructural Assessment Reports & Fitness for Service evaluations\nRisk Assessment, Method Statements (RAMS)\nContribution to Asset Performance & Availability KPIs\nCompetencies:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability\nAbility to make risk-based engineering decisions\nEffective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders\nLeadership in offshore safety culture\nCommercial awareness with asset operations\nQualifications:\nEssential\nDegree in Civil / Structural / Offshore / Mechanical Engineering\nProven experience in offshore wind foundations or offshore structures\nStrong knowledge of structural analysis, fatigue, and marine environments\nExperience in asset integrity or O&M engineering roles\nDesirable\nChartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards\nExperience with subsea inspection techniques and surveys\nKnowledge of offshore installation and construction interfaces\nFamiliarity with FEA tools and structural modelling software\nIf you wish to make a big impact in renewables and being involved in this innovative project do not hesitate to apply.\nMore roles will be advertised soon, so feel free to reach out and share!\nWebsite:\nVacancies - come and work with us! - Offshore Wind Farm | Inch Cape Wind\nAny questions please reach out to Oscar Martos HR team at Inch Cape offshore wind\nThink you are an ideal candidate?
