This is an exciting time to join us ahead of the launch of our new Sustainability strategy. You'll play a key role by collecting, validating and analysing environmental and carbon data, providing a robust evidence base for decision-making. The role will support accurate carbon, ESG and sustainability reporting, using insight to identify emissions hotspots and opportunities to drive carbon reduction across homes, assets and operations.\nAbout us\nWe are a social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, mainly in the Bradford district. Our customers sit at the heart of what we do, and our colleagues are the people who’ll help us achieve our vision, which is to create the best customer experience to improve everyday lives.\nDuties include:\nCollect, validate and maintain environmental, energy and carbon data across homes, assets and operations. \nSupport the annual calculation and update of the organisation’s carbon footprint, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions. \nMaintain and improve carbon datasets, reporting tools and data quality processes. \nAnalyse emissions trends, identify key hotspots and highlight opportunities for carbon reduction. \nTrack the impact of sustainability, retrofit and energy efficiency projects, providing clear reporting on outcomes and benefits. \nAid the development of evidence-based business cases for decarbonisation and energy efficiency initiatives.\nWork with internal teams, including assets, finance, procurement and operations, to improve data accuracy and support delivery of carbon reduction activity. \nTranslate data and insight into clear information for colleagues, managers and decision makers. \nCollaborate with external partners, consultants and suppliers to obtain data, validate information and support sustainability initiatives. \nProvide clear evidence, insight and practical information to gain internal awareness and behaviour change activity \nAssist ESG reporting, including SECR, SHIFT and internal sustainability reporting requirements.\nMaintain sustainability KPIs and dashboards to track performance against carbon reduction targets. \nEnsure carbon reporting methods are consistent, transparent and aligned with recognised carbon accounting principles where applicable. \nIdentify data gaps, reporting risks and quality issues, escalating these with proposed improvements. \nSupport responses to customer, investor, funder or regulatory sustainability queries.\nRequirements\nKnowledge of climate change, carbon reduction and sustainability principles. \nAwareness of carbon accounting principles, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. \nKnowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting requirements.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and draw clear conclusions. \nHigh attention to detail and accuracy when collecting, validating and reporting data. \nStrong organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.\nHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.\nAbility to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.\nExperience of carbon, sustainability, ESG or environmental reporting. \nExperience using data dashboards, Power BI or other reporting tools.\nDegree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject such as sustainability, environment, data, engineering, geography, housing or the built environment\nRight to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available. \nCommutable distance of BD17 7BN and able to be onsite 2 days per week. \nBenefits\nStarting salary from £29,978 per year\nSocial Housing Pension Scheme with up-to 10% employer contribution\n28 days annual leave that increases with service plus bank holidays\nOption to buy and sell annual leave\nTraining, development, and qualification opportunities\nOur Hub: our wellbeing and benefits site, with exclusive access to discounts and savings (at over 800 retailers)\nCorporate health scheme membership\nAccess to an Employee Assistance Programme\nCycle to work scheme\nLocal gym membership discounts.\nA team of trained Mental Health First Aiders who are available for colleagues to contact for support\nJoin Our Team!\nWe’re looking for great people to join us!
