This is not a traditional infrastructure-only role. Your mission is to design and operate the cloud application platform that our development teams build on - ensuring our services deploy safely, scale globally, and run reliably.\nYou will act as a force multiplier for engineering teams by creating standardized, repeatable deployment patterns and self-service capabilities, while partnering closely with central infrastructure teams to ensure platform alignment.\nYou will own how applications move from code to globally available production systems - with strong emphasis on multi-region Azure architecture, AKS-based workloads, and serverless/event-driven services.\nWhat You Will Own\n1. Cloud Application Platform (Azure)\nYou will design and operate the application layer of our Azure platform, including:\nMulti-region deployment patterns across Azure regions for high availability and resilience\nAzure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for core application workloads\nAzure Functions for event-driven and serverless components\nAzure Service Bus for asynchronous messaging and decoupled architectures\nAzure API Management (APIM) for secure and scalable API exposure\nAzure Front Door for global routing, performance optimization, and failover\nYou will ensure these services are deployed in a consistent, production-ready manner with clear standards that teams can follow.\n2. CI/CD, Release Engineering & Deployment Standards\nYou will build and evolve our application delivery model using Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitOps principles.\nDesign advanced CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security gates, and approval workflows\nImplement zero-downtime deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, rolling)\nStandardize branching and release models to support parallel development and fast, safe releases\nCreate reusable pipeline templates and deployment patterns that teams can adopt easily\nDrive consistent, repeatable deployment processes across services and environments\nYour goal is to make deployments boring, predictable, and safe.\n3. Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Strategy\nDefine and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform for Azure resources\nPartner with the Infrastructure team to ensure networking, identity, and foundational services meet application platform needs\nOwn application configuration strategy using Azure App Configuration and Key Vault\nEliminate configuration drift across Dev, Test, Staging, and Production\nEnsure environment parity to reduce release risk\n4. Multi-Region Reliability & Observability\nDesign for regional failover and high availability at the application layer\nImplement and tune monitoring using Azure Monitor and Application Insights\nEstablish actionable alerting that reduces noise and improves signal\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) for platform and deployment-related incidents\nContinuously improve resilience, performance, and recovery processes\n5. Developer Enablement & Platform Collaboration\nYou are not just operating systems - you are enabling engineers.\nCreate self-service templates, documentation, and golden paths for teams\nCoach teams on deployment patterns, observability, and cloud-native practices\nAct as a bridge between Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams\nHelp teams design systems that are deployable, scalable, and cost-efficient\n6. Cost & Efficiency Engineering\nBuild cost awareness into deployment patterns and architectural standards\nOptimize AKS, serverless, and messaging usage for performance per dollar\nPartner with leadership to monitor and manage cloud spend\nPrevent waste through right-sizing, lifecycle policies, and automation\nCompensation\nBase pay range: $124,900 - $156,124 per year. This is the range we reasonably expect to pay at hire. Placement within the range depends on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and certifications. This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive pay.
