You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and project teams to identify, implement, and maintain efficient automated solutions that support development, tracking, change management, and configuration management processes.\n\nIn this role, you will help integrate software productivity tools into enterprise environments, support process improvement initiatives, and ensure tools and supporting infrastructure remain operational, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n Support the research, analysis, evaluation, and recommendation of software productivity and configuration management tools\nInstall, integrate, configure, customize, administer, maintain, and upgrade enterprise software productivity tools and associated infrastructure\nAdminister and support ClearCase and ClearQuest environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting\nSupport the development and implementation of automated solutions that improve project workflows, tracking, requirements management, and configuration management processes\nDevelop and maintain requirements repositories and support requirements management activities across engineering teams\nSupport and maintain project tracking and workflow management tools, including JIRA and similar platforms\nDevelop and maintain scripts and automation solutions using Perl, Bash, Shell (sh/csh), Windows Batch, Python, or similar scripting languages\nDevelop, tailor, and maintain technical documentation related to software productivity tools, automation processes, and configuration management activities\nPerform backup, recovery, and maintenance activities for software productivity tool databases, datasets, and files\nMonitor, track, and manage software productivity tools, licenses, and associated media\nProvide consulting, training, and hands-on support to project personnel on the effective use of software productivity tools\nCollaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate tools into existing and proposed project workflows and enterprise environments\nSupport process automation, productivity enhancement, and system integration initiatives across mission-focused environments\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\n Expertise installing, operating, administering, and upgrading ClearCase and ClearQuest tools\nStrong knowledge of developing and implementing requirements repositories\nStrong experience using JIRA and other project management and tracking tools\nGeneral scripting and automation experience using Perl, Bash, sh, csh, Windows Batch, Python, or similar scripting languages\nExperience supporting software productivity, configuration management, or systems engineering tool environments\nFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and configuration management processes\nExperience installing, configuring, integrating, and supporting enterprise software tools\nFamiliarity with IBM/Rational products, HP Service Manager, or similar enterprise productivity tools\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear technical documentation\nAbility to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within engineering and infrastructure team\n\nEducation and Experience:\n Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university is required\nFour (4) additional years of experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, or configuration management engineer may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree\nMinimum of ten (10) years of combined experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, or configuration management engineer is required\nMinimum of six (6) years of experience as a Tools Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required\n\nCertifications: \n Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification requirements\n\nClearance Requirement:\n Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role\n\nWhy Choose Independent Software:\n\nAt Independent Software, our people are the mission.
