The QA will be involved throughout the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and test planning to automation, execution, release validation, and production support.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nRequirement & Test Planning\n\nReview business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.\nIdentify functional gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and edge cases early in the development lifecycle.\nFollow a V-Model / shift-left approach, ensuring testing activities are planned alongside development activities.\nPrepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and acceptance criteria.\nMaintain traceability between requirements and test cases.\n\nFunctional & Integration Testing\n\nPerform functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.\nValidate critical business workflows across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and third-party integrations.\nDesign and execute comprehensive test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.\nPerform cross-browser and responsive testing where applicable.\n\nTest Automation\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications and APIs.\nAutomate critical business workflows and regression scenarios.\nWork with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and reusable automation scripts.\nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\nAnalyze automation failures and identify whether the issue is related to the application, test, test data, or environment.\nContinuously improve automation coverage and reliability.\n\nAPI & Backend Testing\n\nPerform functional and integration testing of REST APIs.\nDevelop automated API tests where appropriate.\nValidate service-to-service communication and backend workflows.\nUse tools such as Postman for API testing and debugging.\nValidate application behavior across different backend services.\n\nDatabase Testing\n\nUse PostgreSQL and SQL for backend data validation.\nWrite SQL queries to validate data created or modified through application workflows.\nVerify database state before and after API/UI operations.\nInvestigate data inconsistencies and assist developers in troubleshooting backend issues.\n\nDefect & Release Management\n\nIdentify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear steps and supporting information.\nWork closely with developers to investigate and resolve issues.\nPerform regression testing after defect fixes.\nEnsure significant production defects are covered by appropriate regression or automation tests.\nParticipate in release testing and provide QA sign-off based on defined acceptance criteria and test results.\nPerform post-release validation of critical workflows.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n\n3–6 years of experience in software QA/testing.\nStrong hands-on experience in test automation.\nExperience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.\nStrong programming/scripting knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or similar.\nGood understanding of the V-Model of SDLC and shift-left testing practices.\nStrong experience in functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing.\nGood knowledge of REST APIs and API testing.\nStrong working knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.\nExperience with bug tracking and test management tools.\n\nGood to Have\n\nExperience with Playwright and TypeScript.\nExperience building or maintaining an automation framework from scratch.\nExperience with API automation.\nExperience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience testing Node.js/backend services.\nFamiliarity with monitoring and error-tracking tools such as Sentry.\nExperience with performance or load testing.\n\nWhat We Expect\n\nOwnership of product quality throughout the complete SDLC.\nA shift-left mindset — identifying quality issues during requirements and design rather than waiting until development is complete.\nAbility to understand business requirements as well as technical implementation.\nAbility to determine which scenarios should be automated and which require manual/exploratory testing.\nStrong focus on test coverage, maintainability, and preventing regressions.\nAbility to independently investigate issues across UI, APIs, backend services, and PostgreSQL.\nStrong collaboration with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.\nClear communication and documentation of defects, test results, and release
