Degree programs;\nAbility to implement a supportive student environment and to make students active partners in the teaching/learning process;\nUnderstanding of learning-styles theories;\nAll instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDelivery of high quality instruction in the dental clinic laboratory; classroom setting, or online formats;\nImplementation of multi-learning styles, theory lessons planning/curriculum development;\nCommitment to increasing student achievement through contextual and applied curriculum;\nCommitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork\nSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstructing courses including lecture clinic, laboratory, and clinical rotations to meet the overall course objectives and program goals of the Dental Programs.\nEvaluating student outcome achievement using multiple methodologies and maintaining accurate student records.\nMaintaining and developing skills necessary to integrate and use technology effectively in the classroom and through various modes of delivery.\nEffectively communicating with other Dental personnel regarding the collaborative use of the IRSC Dental Clinic resources and any pertinent issues concerning the Dental Programs.\nParticipating in a quality assurance program for the IRSC Dental Clinic.\nMaintaining adherence to accreditation standards and reporting requirements.\nServing as a liaison between Indian River State College and the Dental community.\nSupporting student success through counseling, advising, and assisting individual students.\nAiding students in overcoming obstacles to successful completion of instructional programs.\nSupporting students’ professional development through appropriate organizations.\nParticipating in Department, Division, and general adjunct faculty meetings,\nParticipating in recruitment, retention, completion, and placement activities.\nServing on the Dental Advisory Committee.\nCompleting other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:\nThis position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess oftwenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
