Here, your role is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to shape futures, support student success, and contribute to a college that is changing lives every day.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \nTeaching college credit courses;\nTrading all class coursework;\nAssigning final grades;\nAssisting with program development;\nRecruiting and implementing department objectives;\nParticipating in college committees, assisting with student organizations;\nSupporting professional advisory committees;\nAssuming, as required by scheduled courses, day or evening teaching assignments on any of the four-county college campuses;\nMaintaining regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstructing assigned classes to include Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, Adobe Premiere, Avid, Web design and animation, and video and sound editing software related to this industry\nGrading all quizzes, tests, and written exams and assignments\nAssigning final grades and delivering grades and grade justification sheets\nMaintaining regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students\nMaintaining a safe and effective classroom environment\nAdopting new versions of software as they appear in the market\nDeveloping new courses for the changing curriculum in the Graphics and Digital Medial programs\nAssisting with the recruitment, retention, completion, and placement of students\nMaintaining the laboratories in a clean, neat, organized and healthful condition conducive to learning\nCreating promotional materials\nAssisting in the recruitment of new students\nParticipating in department, division, and general adjunct faculty meetings\nCandidates are expected to stay current in emerging technologies related to the field\nCompleting other duties and responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:\nMaster’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field.\nTeaching and at least three years of documented industry experience in Graphic Design, Video Production, Computer Animation, Game Development or Web Publishing is preferred\nCandidates need to demonstrate expertise in the use of Adobe products for Graphic Design, Web Design, and non-linear video editing (Premiere, After Effects, and or others)\nDigital Media candidates need to demonstrate expertise in the use of 3D software, such as Autodesk Maya, Mudbox, or Zbrush\nAll instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
