If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Program Assistant (Welding)!\nJOB SUMMARY:\nUnder direct supervision, this position provides support to the Workforce Education Program faculty in maintaining Welding program training facilities. This includes all duties required to maintain clean and safe learning classroom environments for students.\nSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssist the instructional staff in setting up lab activities.\n\nOrganize the learning/classroom environment; including tool room, kitchens, shop supplies etc.\n\nRepair and maintain shop equipment and tools.\n\nEmpty trash receptacles and general cleanup of classrooms, kitchens, labs, and shops.\n\nOccasionally drive a college vehicle to pick up donations and materials for class assignments.\n\nComplete other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:\nAn A.A.S. degree or actively seeking a degree or certification is preferred.\n\nMinimum of two (2) Relevant office experience preferred.\n\nPossess a valid Florida Driver’s license.\n\nExcellent telephone etiquette.\n\nProven technical and mechanical experience.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimum supervision and be self- motivated.\n\nAbility to be well organized.\n\nPossess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.\n\nPossess skills to work with a diverse student population.\n\nA willingness to adapt to the task at hand (i.e., be flexible to the assignment) as well as the ability to multitask.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThis position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and occasionally carry items in excess of fifty (50) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and machinery related to Workforce Education Programs. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
