We’re a fast-growing, tech-driven company looking for top talent to help build the future of road travel.\nTHE ROLE\nWe’re looking for an Operations Manager to lead daily execution across a group of 5-8 depots and approximately 300-450 vehicles. Work is carried out from Oslo, with short visits to depots outside Norway.\nReporting to the District Manager, you’ll lead Operations Supervisors and their depot teams, ensuring vehicles are ready and delivered on time, teams have the right staffing and knowledge, and operating standards are consistently followed.\nThis is a hands-on, field-based leadership position. You’ll be based at the largest depot within your assigned group, travel frequently between locations, and serve as the first escalation point for critical operational issues.\nWHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?\nLead operational performance across 5-8 depots, delivering service, productivity, quality, and cost targets\nManage, coach, and develop Operations Supervisors, setting clear daily and weekly expectations\nEnsure vehicles are ready, safe, clean, and available for on-time customer check-ins and check-outs\nMonitor daily and weekly KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions\nManage labor, overtime, scheduling, productivity, and operating expenses within the approved budget\nCoordinate workforce coverage across locations, particularly during seasonal and operational peaks\nEnsure consistent execution of SOPs, safety standards, compliance requirements, and people practices\nResolve escalated operational and customer issues and prevent recurrence\nImplement new processes, systems, and district initiatives across assigned depots\nTechnical preparation and preventive fleet maintenance programme\nRoot cause analysis of recurring failures\nDesign and implementation of in-house repairs and spare parts inventory\nTechnical vehicle compliance (EU vehicle inspections and gas system safety)\nLean methodologies and statistical quality control applied to vehicle turnaround\nQuantitative planning of demand, fleet capacity, and staffing\nReport performance, risks, and resource needs to the District Manager\nVisit each assigned depot weekly or fortnightly and complete at least one frontline shift per month\nServe as the first escalation point when an Operations Supervisor cannot resolve a critical issue\nMaintain availability during weekends and holidays when operationally necessary, including a Thursday-to-Monday working pattern during the six busiest months of the year\nWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?\n5-8 years of experience in hands-on operations, ideally within mobility, rent-a-car, logistics, retail, hospitality, or another high-volume customer-facing environment\nAt least 2-3 years of experience leading teams, several locations, or one high-volume site\nDegree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent) and/or management (at higher-education level) is required;\nExperience managing labor, overtime, operating costs, scheduling, and location-level budgets\nStrong understanding of KPIs, workforce planning, fleet coordination, and operational improvement\nA visible, hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside frontline teams\nStrong coaching, problem-solving, and performance-management skills\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills\nProfessional fluency in English; additional local language capability is a plus\nStrong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience with operational or reporting tools\nA valid driver’s license and willingness to drive campervans is preferred\nAvailability to travel frequently between assigned depots and respond to critical operational needs\nKnowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and auxiliary systems & maintenance planning is a strong plus\nSix Sigma, Lean methodology and/or quality control experience/certification is required\nBonus points for:\nInternational experience is a strong nice-to-have, given international operational management is part of the roleFleet management or vehicle maintenance experience\nLean, Six Sigma, safety, project management, or similar operations certifications\nExperience implementing operational change across multiple locations\nExperience in highly seasonal or geographically dispersed operations\nTHE INDIE COMMITMENT!\nBeing part of a young, fast-growing and innovative company where you make a difference.\nCareer development opportunities in Field Operations and transition opportunities to our Offices in Lisbon, Mexico City or Manila.\nContinuous training and coaching to develop the skills that matter to you.\nCompensation package that includes Performance and Referral Bonuses.\nFree Road Trips, so you can experience Indie firsthand -
