Indivisible is a nationwide movement of millions of people working to stop the rise of authoritarianism in the United States and to demand a real democracy. We believe that politics is too important to leave up to the politicians - it requires all of us to get on the field.

About the role:

The Senior Social Media Associate is a creative thinker who will help develop, coordinate, and execute content creation and strategies for the Indivisible Project with a focus on social media. This person would own our day-to-day content production on all social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, Substack, and Mastodon) and social engagement (replies, reshares, etc).

We are hiring for this position immediately. This position reports to the Associate Social Media Director and is full-time, with an annual salary of $83,900 and a generous benefits package.

Instead of a cover letter, please tell us in under 300 characters (or record a video that's under one minute) why you’re interested in this position.

  • Assist as needed with digital, writing, research, and organizational projects on discrete issue-related and electoral campaigns;
  • Work with other departments to develop memos on priority content areas that can be turned into social content

Reporting and Analysis (20%)

  • Work with social media manager to develop impact reports and weekly social reports;
  • Focus on managing our online community with the goal of engaging with the majority of relevant messages received;

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, campaign-like environment;
  • Motivation and willingness to learn;
  • Alignment on the core values and strategy of the Indivisible Project.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with video production and editing (including on-camera work);
  • Experience with graphic design;

About Indivisible Project

We’re working to build a democracy that reflects a broad, multiracial “we the people,” one that works for all of us and is sustained by all of us. To support this movement, we’ve built an incredible team at the national level. We dream big, we support each other, and we have fun doing it. We’re changing what’s politically possible. Indivisible is part of the powerful progressive movement reaction to Trump, fighting the racist, misogynistic, plutocratic, and authoritarian agenda trumpeted by Trump and the GOP congress. Don’t take our word for it; Indivisible has been featured on the Rachel Maddow Show multiple times, as well as in the New York Times and in pretty much every other major news outlet in the country.

We’re building together. We’re building a new organization every day - a rare opportunity to model what we want to see in the world. We’re deeply committed to equity and building a diverse and inclusive organization.

We’re looking for you. If you want to fight for the soul of American democracy, there’s no better place to be than Indivisible. We’re looking for more team members who are passionate about building an inclusive democracy and committed to getting results. It’s an exciting, fulfilling place if you’re someone who wants to fight fiercely for the progressive world we want to have.

Every one of us on the national team is here because we believe this movement is the best way to retake and build progressive power in this country. Does that ring true for you? If so, great - throw your hat in the ring to join our team. Let’s start #winning together. For more information about Indivisible’s organizational principles, click here.
