By offering mentorship and robust Training and Development opportunities, INDUS continues its pursuit to be the Employer of Choice.\nReporting to the Program Manager, the Simulation Modeling Engineer (System Engineer) supports development and enhancement of undersea warfare models used within the WAF HWIL simulation environment. The engineer modifies and optimizes models to improve simulation fidelity while ensuring compliance with strict timing constraints. This is a contingent position expected to be located in Newport, RI.\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelops and modifies high-fidelity models supporting undersea vehicle simulation including dynamics, target models, and environmental models.\nImproves model fidelity through enhancements such as improved propagation modeling, buoyancy calculations, and sensor modeling.\nEnsures models meet real-time timing and fidelity requirements defined in system specifications.\nIntegrates models into the WAF simulation environment.\nConducts verification and validation testing to confirm compliance with performance requirements.\nSupports delivery of model documentation and technical reports in accordance with project CDRLs.\nUtilizes modeling tools including MATLAB and Simulink. \nBid and proposal support if requested.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications:\nAn active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.\nBachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.\nThree (3) years of experience developing or modifying high-fidelity models to meet timing and fidelity performance criteria.\nFive or more (5+) years of experience developing or modifying high-fidelity models.\nExperience with acoustic models related to undersea systems.\nExperience with undersea weapon system or UUV simulation environments.\nMust possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. \nDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nDemonstrated problem-solving skills. \nMust possess strong time management skills. \nMust be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time.
