This role follows established specifications and testing procedures, operates precision measuring and mechanical testing equipment, and ensures accurate documentation of results. The technician also maintains compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting efficient operations in a hands-on testing environment.\nPrimary Job Responsibilities\nPerform testing of numerous materials from a broad range of industries. \nWorks from specifications (ASTM, ASME, etc.), drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions\nUtilizes precision measuring instruments including dial caliper, micrometer, and other specialized measurement equipment.\nMaintains equipment, quality and safety standards\nRequired Qualifications & Skills\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nHave a basic understanding of concepts, practices, procedures and testing equipment in the materials lab\nExceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities \nAbility to manage time effectively, prioritize work, analyze and solve problems, and complete paperwork accurately.\nProficient in Microsoft Office and Excel\nValid state driver’s license\nKnowledge and compliance of workplace health and safety standards\nDesired Qualifications & Skills\n2+ years of experience in materials testing\nPrevious experience with Instron mechanical test systems\nTechnical certifications or technical degree in related field \nWorking Conditions\nTypical working hours are from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, although extended hours and weekend shifts may be required on occasion\nRegularly exposed to high-speed machinery and mechanical parts\nOccasionally exposed to humid conditions, climate/weather variations\nOccasionally exposed to acetone, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic and/or caustic chemicals\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to stand for extended periods of time\nMust be able to be extremely accurate when working with their hands and arms\nMust be able to regularly walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl\nMust be able to occasionally lift and/or push up to 60 lbs.\nMust meet vision requirements for the job, including near vision, color vision, and depth perception\nBenefits Offered\nMedical (w/Mental Health coverage), Dental, Vision insurance\nVoluntary Short-Term Disability, Critical Illness, and Accident plans\nEmployer-paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\n401(k) Retirement Plan\nPaid Time Off and Holidays\nAbout Us\nIndustrial Inspection & Analysis® (IIA) is an emerging, high growth inspection, testing, and analytical business seeking to build a national platform in order to serve a breadth of industrial sectors and geographies.
