Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in the office, primarily based out of the Hamilton main office at 1430 Main St. E. \n\nWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: \nInternal Financial Reporting (40%)\nProvide monthly reports to various departments, and support with interpretation and discussion of financial information\nIT, Facilities, Programs, HR\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with users of financial information, helping them understand the data and integrate it into their decision making and management approach\nMaintain payroll database to support both internal and external reporting requirements\nWith support from the Finance Manager, develop a process to provide financial reports, including detailed analytical work and forecasts, to Regional Managers on a quarterly basis\nAssist in preparing quarterly reports for the Finance and Audit Committee\nSet up and report on program launch budgets\n\nExternal Financial Reporting (40%)\nMinistry of Health Rent Supplements\nAnnual budget\nAnnual report\nOperating Funding Agreements\nMinistry of Health, various municipalities\nQuarterly financial reports\nPrepare budgets and projections as required\nSupport in the development of new agreements and reporting requirements\nEngage with auditors where required\nOperating Grants\nCreate job codes and circulate to stakeholders\nAssist program managers in tracking and reporting on the use of funds\nMaintain database of active grants\n\nOperating Budget Development (10%)\nSupport the Controller by working with various operating departments during the budget preparation season to ensure quality of data inputs and access to necessary information\nAnalyze operating budgets to ensure financial sustainability and compliance with Operating Agreements\n\nMiscellaneous (10%)\nSupport department managers in extracting and interpreting financial information as required\nAssist the Finance Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements\nAssist with year-end close and audit procedures\nOther duties as assigned\n\nWHAT YOU WILL BRING: \nBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)\nProfessional certification such as CPA is highly desirable\nProven experience in financial budgeting and reporting, preferably in a nonprofit or social services organization\nExcellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail\nDemonstrated ability to interpret and present financial information in a way that is understandable to users without the same familiarity or experience\nExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail\nHigh degree of proficiency in Excel.
