The role is primarily operational and hands-on, with a focus on production availability, incident handling, proactive detection, SLA adherence, operational stability, and reduction of recurring incidents.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMonitor database availability, health, and performance.\nPerform routine database operational health checks.\nInvestigate database connection and connection-pool issues.\nMonitor backup jobs and validate successful completion.\nSupport database restore and recovery activities.\nMonitor database replication and identify synchronization issues.\nInvestigate slow queries and database performance degradation.\nReview database logs and identify abnormal events.\nMonitor storage utilization and database capacity.\nSupport user, role, and database access checks according to approved processes.\nTroubleshoot application-to-database connectivity issues.\nSupport database incidents and root-cause analysis.\nCoordinate with DBAs, application teams, infrastructure teams, and cloud engineers.\nMaintain database operational runbooks and procedures.\nValidate database health following changes or releases.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.\nDatabase administration/support certification is advantageous.\nGCP Cloud SQL experience preferred.\nExperience supporting high-volume transactional platforms.\nKnowledge of database monitoring and observability platforms.\nRequired Technical / Professional Skills:\nCloud SQL and/or managed database platforms\nPostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent relational databases\nSQL troubleshooting\nDatabase availability monitoring\nBackup and restore procedures\nReplication concepts\nConnection-pool troubleshooting\nSlow-query identification\nDatabase logs and diagnostic information\nStorage and performance monitoring\nDatabase user/access administration fundamentals\nBasic database capacity
