We are currently looking for a Powertrain Performance Engineer to join our team in Arizona.\nA Day in the Life:\nThe responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.\nEvaluate and develop vehicle acceleration and drivability performance for future Nissan and Infiniti products.\nConduct subjective and objective vehicle evaluations to identify opportunities for performance improvement.\nPerform competitive benchmarking studies and establish performance targets based on customer expectations and market-leading vehicles.\nDesign and execute vehicle development experiments using advanced data acquisition and measurement systems.\nCollect, analyze, and interpret vehicle data to identify root causes and develop fact-based recommendations.\nCalibration of powertrain tuning parameters for both acceleration and drivability performance\nCollaborate with engineering teams across North America and global R&D organizations throughout the vehicle development process.\nIndependently manage development activities including test planning, execution, reporting, and technical presentations to management.\nWho We’re Looking for:\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\n5 or more years of related professional experience in hybrid/electric AND/OR internal combustion calibration.\nStrong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle operation.\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently plan and execute engineering activities.\nStrong communication, project management, and organizational skills.\nSensitivity to perceive, discern, and characterize vehicle performance attributes.\nValid United States driver’s license/clean driving record.\nDesired:\nExperience with engine, transmission (AT/CVT), hybrid, or battery-electric powertrain systems.\nExperience with vehicle calibration, drivability development, or powertrain performance evaluation.\nExperience with ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer, CANape, or similar vehicle development tools.\nExperience with vehicle data acquisition, analysis, and engineering reporting.\nUnderstanding of vehicle controls and calibration methodologies.\nExperience with prototype vehicle development and competitive benchmarking activities.\nTravel\nAbility to travel up to 15%, including occasional domestic and international development activities.\nWhat You’ll Look Forward to at Nissan:\nCareer Growth and Continuous Learning Opportunities: Benefit from diverse career paths, cross-departmental moves, and innovative learning platforms.
