The company harnesses quantum mechanics to build and integrate quantum computers, sensors, and networks. From fundamental physics to leading edge commercial products, Infleqtion enables “quantum everywhere” through our ecosystem of devices and platforms.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nInfleqtion is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced Quantum RF (QRF) sensing systems.\nThis role focuses on designing and implementing the gateware, software, and hardware to enable opto-electrical control systems for our quantum sensing solutions. In this role, you will work closely with a cross-functional team of software engineers, opto-mechanical engineers, and physicists to develop unique control algorithms and complex data processing tools. You will be part of a purpose-built team to bring quantum systems from lab environments to field demonstrations.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role.\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software and gateware for control of QRF systems and subsystems \nKey contributor towards developing control system architectures for future quantum sensors \nSubsystem integration into quantum systems, including verification, validation, and debugging \nDeploy high test coverage and fully leverage our CI pipelines and hardware test beds to have confidence that your designs will work as expected \nDevelop programmable logic and low-level CPU interfaces to control integrated systems and peripherals including quantum sensors, magnetic field controllers, and lasers \nCreate test scripts to validate subsystems and components of integrated systems \nSupport board bring-up and debugging efforts, providing feedback to design teams. \nWork closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and physics teams to ensure successful system integration and deliver high-performance real time embedded systems \nSupport applications and demo teams by improving system usability and reliability \nOperate and interface with a range of electrical and optical lab test equipment \nWorking with Rust firmware engineers to define architecture and drivers \nRequirements\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nBS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field \n4+ years of experience in embedded systems, FPGA development, or mixed signal design \nFamiliarity with one two following areas, proficiency in both areas preferred: \nEmbedded system development in Rust. If you have relevant expertise but with C/C++, you may still be successful in this role if you have interest in Rust and have some idea of how Rust can be used to rapidly develop safe and performant systems \nFPGA development in any HDL with experience in RF synthesis. Whether you like to work in Verilog/VHDL or bleeding-edge languages like SpinalHDL, nMigen, or MyHDL \nExperience interfacing with hardware (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.) \nStrong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries \nExperience with common benchtop test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies \nThis position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Please note that any offer for employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive software or technology controlled under these U.S. export control laws and regulations without sponsorship for an export license \nPREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS\nExperience with RF systems, signal generation, or data acquisition hardware \nFamiliarity with control systems or feedback loops \nExperience with FPGA-based systems \nExperience developing test or automation frameworks \nExposure to scientific instrumentation or R&D environments \nExposure to hardware design and schematic capture \nTRAVEL\nUp to 10% travel may be required.\nWORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nWork will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in-person). Any required Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and must be properly used in accordance with company requirements.\nBenefits\nSalary range: $131,000 to $175,000\n100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability \nEmployer-funded Health Savings Account \nUnlimited PTO \n401(k) match \nCompany-paid Life and AD&D Insurance \nFlexible Savings Account \nPaid FMLA, Maternity/Paternity Leave \nEmployee Assistance Program \nStudent Loan Repayment \nEquity Program\nNotice to Recruitment Agencies:\nInfleqtion does not accept unsolicited resumes from agencies.
