We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality, resolve complex manufacturing issues, and strengthen supplier quality processes. This role will work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure suppliers consistently meet technical specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.\nThe ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, inspection methods, and supplier quality management, along with the ability to independently resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and verification of effectiveness.\nReview engineering drawings and specifications to identify unclear requirements, tolerance issues, and manufacturing or inspection challenges; collaborate with Engineering on solutions.\nEvaluate supplier manufacturing processes, inspection data, and product conformity, with emphasis on precision machining, coatings, finishes, and mechanical assemblies.\nQualify and develop suppliers through capability assessments, first article inspections, risk evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nDevelop and improve supplier quality processes, including supplier approval, incoming inspection, change management, escalation, and performance monitoring.\nInvestigate supplier nonconformances, distinguish manufacturing defects from internal specification issues, and drive appropriate resolutions.\nPlan and conduct internal supply chain and external supplier audits covering purchasing controls, traceability, inventory accuracy, receiving inspection, and corrective action effectiveness.\nSupport applicable AS9100 quality management requirements and SOX compliance activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.\nRequirements\n· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience considered.\n· 8+ years of supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or supplier-development experience.\n· Experience supporting Government or defense contracts and working with contract quality requirements under FAR Part 46; DFARS experience preferred where applicable.\n· Demonstrated ability to qualify, assess, and monitor suppliers based on quality-system capability, technical competence, capacity, delivery performance, and risk.\n· Experience conducting supplier audits, including quality-management-system, process, product, and special-process audits.\n· Working knowledge of quality-management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or other standards relevant to the organization’s industry.\n· Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, inspection plans, test requirements, and configuration-control requirements.\n· Experience with nonconformance management, material review, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).\n· Ability to develop and review quality plans, first-article inspection packages, inspection/test records, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation.\n· Experience applying quality tools such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, FMEA, control plans, process capability, statistical process control, and risk-based thinking.\n· Strong documentation discipline and ability to maintain objective quality evidence that is complete, accurate, traceable, and ready for customer or Government review.\n· Effective communication and collaboration skills with suppliers, procurement, engineering, manufacturing, program management, and customers.\n-Up to 50% travel\nPreferred qualifications:\n· ASQ certification, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).\n· Experience with DCMA, source inspection, Government quality assurance surveillance, customer audits, or audit-response activities.\n· Experience with counterfeit-part prevention, product traceability, lot control, serialization, and supplier flowdown requirements.\n· Familiarity with first article inspection requirements, including AS9102.\n· Knowledge of ERP, quality-management-system, and supplier-performance-management tools.\nBenefits\nSalary Range: per year 155000-185000\n100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability \nEmployer-funded Health Savings Account \nUnlimited PTO \n401(k) match \nCompany-paid Life and AD&D Insurance \nFlexible Savings Account \nPaid FMLA, Maternity/Paternity Leave \nEmployee Assistance Program \nStudent Loan Repayment \nEquity Program\nNotice to Recruitment Agencies:\nInfleqtion does not accept unsolicited resumes from agencies.
