Platform Deployment Engineer

We have an opportunity for a Platform Deployment Engineer to join our Professional Services team in our Centre of Excellence in Warsaw, Poland, reporting to the Professional Services leadership team. In this highly technical and customer-facing role, you will help ensure customers achieve rapid time-to-value from their Kentik investment by leading onboarding, deployment, and adoption activities.

You will work closely with customers to guide them through implementation and help them achieve their first desired outcome with the Kentik platform. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Product Management, and Engineering teams to ensure customers receive a seamless experience from deployment through adoption.

You are the ideal candidate if you have a strong background in networking, observability, cloud technologies, and software implementation, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do

• Lead technical onboarding and deployment engagements for new Kentik customers
• Configure and implement the Kentik platform, including telemetry integrations, Private Agent deployment, testing, and initial platform setup
• Partner with customers to understand their environment and guide them toward successful adoption and measurable business outcomes
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, and Support teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales delivery
• Troubleshoot implementation issues and provide technical guidance throughout onboarding projects
• Identify deployment risks, technical challenges, and product gaps, escalating where appropriate
• Develop and maintain implementation documentation, deployment best practices, and technical knowledge assets
• Leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve deployment efficiency, accelerate troubleshooting, enhance customer outcomes, and streamline operational processes while maintaining sound professional judgment
• Meet utilization and customer satisfaction objectives while continuously identifying opportunities to add value for customers

Be Prepared - What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role focused on software implementation, onboarding, professional services, or solution delivery
• Strong experience with networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, DNS, and HTTP
• Experience working with network observability and monitoring technologies including NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, IPFIX, and SNMP
• Hands-on experience administering Linux or UNIX systems
• Experience working with networking platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or similar technologies
• Experience working with APIs and REST-based integrations
• Knowledge of network security technologies and concepts including DDoS mitigation, firewalls, segmentation, and RPKI
• Experience troubleshooting packet captures using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve efficiency, problem solving, communication, automation, and customer outcomes while applying critical thinking and validating outputs
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI)
• Experience with CDN architectures including Anycast, OTT, and GSLB
• Experience with synthetic monitoring and network performance testing
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Previous experience within networking, SaaS, observability, cloud, or cybersecurity environments

Be Successful - Your Path

First 90 Days

• Immerse yourself in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and build relationships with key stakeholders
• Complete onboarding and begin Kentik platform training and certification
• Shadow customer deployments and gain familiarity with implementation methodologies and delivery processes

Six Months

• Complete Kentik platform certification requirements
• Independently lead onboarding and deployment engagements for customers
• Consistently achieve utilization and customer satisfaction targets
• Deliver successful customer outcomes aligned with Professional Services best practices
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and service delivery improvements

One Year

• Become a trusted technical advisor for Kentik customers across EMEA
• Lead complex implementation and onboarding projects with minimal oversight
• Contribute to deployment methodologies, best practices, and customer success initiatives
• Help drive ongoing improvements to customer onboarding experiences and Professional Services offerings

For this role based in Poland, the initial salary range is 248,100- 369,820, based on objective, gender-neutral criteria. Where a candidate is placed within this range is determined using those criteria, including skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic market. This position is also eligible for the sales commission plan and may be eligible for additional incentive compensation, where applicable to the role and consistent with the relevant company plans and local law. Employees are also eligible for company-sponsored benefits, which may include health and wellness benefits, retirement programs, paid time off, and other locally applicable offerings.
