network management platform for mission-critical radio systems.\nAs a Backend Engineer, you will design and develop scalable backend services and microservices, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of distributed systems.\nYou will work in an experienced engineering team where technical discussions, clean code, modern technologies, and continuous improvement are an important part of everyday work.\nYOU WILL\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java 21+ and Spring\nContribute to architecture and technical design decisions for distributed systems\nBuild and orchestrate microservices running in Kubernetes and cloud environments\nDevelop event-driven solutions using Kafka and Azure Event Hubs\nDesign, manage, and optimise PostgreSQL databases\nImprove application performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilisation\nTroubleshoot complex backend, networking, performance, and orchestration issues\nWork with Azure, Kubernetes, Linux, Git, and GitHub\nUse GitHub Copilot and Google Gemini as part of the daily software development workflow\nMaintain high standards of clean code, testing, and software engineering practices\nParticipate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvements\nCollaborate with other engineers in an Agile environment\nMUST HAVE\nStrong commercial experience with Java, preferably Java 21+\nVery good knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot\nStrong understanding of OOP, clean code, and software engineering principles\nExperience designing and developing microservices and distributed systems\nExperience with Kubernetes\nExperience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure\nHands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs\nStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design and optimisation\nExperience with performance tuning and optimisation of backend services\nGood knowledge of Git and GitHub\nPractical knowledge of Linux and scripting/automation\nUnderstanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, and network services\nExperience using generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Google Gemini in software development\nVery good troubleshooting and analytical skills\nEnglish allowing effective communication in an international engineering environment\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience working with mission-critical or high-availability systems\nHands-on experience with lab environments, including system configuration, installations, upgrades, and manual testing\nExperience working as an external contractor or consultant within Agile engineering teams\nExperience creating and maintaining technical and architectural documentation\nExperience mentoring engineers and driving technical discussions\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices\nAbility to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing
