This person will lead the Billing team while staying hands-on.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead system design for new features and complex changes; create and maintain architecture documentation and ADRs\n\nDrive code quality, review standards, and engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, code style, operational readiness)\n\nLead technical incident response; write post-mortems with clear root causes and follow-up actions\n\nIdentify and manage technical debt - maintain a prioritized backlog and advocate for regular capacity to address it\n\nTranslate product requirements into technical solutions, milestones, and well-decomposed tasks\n\nMentor engineers through design sessions, pair programming, and code reviews; reduce key-person risk by spreading knowledge across the team\n\nDefine and maintain SLIs/SLOs for team-owned services; ensure sufficient logging, metrics, and alerting are in place\n\nCoordinate technical dependencies with other teams (Content Serving, Processing, UGC, DevOps); represent the team in architecture syncs and design reviews\n\nEvaluate and recommend technologies, patterns, and tools; pilot new approaches where they bring clear benefit\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\nStrong hands-on backend engineering experience with Golang and/or PHP, including demonstrated technical leadership in system design, engineer mentoring, and architecture ownership\n\nExperience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar)\n\nExperience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)\n\nExperience of using Golang in production environment\n\nExperience designing and evolving backend architectures - APIs, data flows, service decomposition\n\nStrong understanding of testing practices (unit, integration, E2E) and CI/CD pipelines\n\nAbility to communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and designs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders\n\nEnglish B1+ (written and verbal communication)\n\nBonus Points\nExperience with various video formats, media containers, and transcoding pipelines\n\nExperience defining and working with SLIs/SLOs in production\n\nUnderstanding of message brokers and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)\n\nTech Stack\nPHP, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Go\n\nHiring Process\nHR Screening (30 min)\n\nTeam Interview (1.5 hour)\n\nSystem Design Interview (1 hour)\n\nLive Coding Interview (1 hour)\n\nCEO Interview (30 min)\n\nExplore our hiring process\nWhat We Offer\nPlease note: fully remote contract role.
