This role requires a strong software engineering background combined with a good understanding of Payroll functionality and end-to-end Payroll processes.\nThe ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java, microservices, APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth, along with experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Prior experience developing Payroll/HCM solutions or experience working as a Payroll specialist/domain expert is highly desirable.\nThe engineer will work on the LPL framework(java based), and collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Analysts, QA, customers, and other engineering teams to design and deliver scalable Payroll capabilities.\nWe are looking for someone with strong critical thinking, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, along with an interest in AI concepts and modern AI development/productivity tools.\nA Typical Day in the Life Includes:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Payroll functionality for the HRT application.\nDevelop scalable solutions using Java, microservices, REST APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth-based authentication/authorization.\nWork with the LPL framework to develop and enhance product functionality.\nApply Payroll domain knowledge when designing and implementing Payroll features and business rules.\nWork closely with Business Analysts and Product Management to understand complex Payroll requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.\nParticipate in solution design, technical discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.\nCollaborate effectively with QA, Product, customers, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve complex product issues.\nDemonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills when analyzing functional and technical problems.\nContribute effectively within an Agile/Scrum development environment using tools such as Jira.\nLeverage AI concepts and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.\nMentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices, design standards, and overall code quality.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nStrong software development experience with Java and enterprise application development.\nHands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth.\nGood understanding of Payroll functionality and Payroll processing concepts.\nPrior experience working on Payroll/HCM products or Payroll-related applications, or previous experience as a Payroll specialist with strong technical capabilities.\nExperience with Agile/Scrum software development practices and tools such as Jira.\nStrong debugging, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with technical teams, Product Management, Business Analysts, customers, and other stakeholders.\nStrong adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and Payroll functionality.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing enterprise Payroll or HCM products.\nDeeper functional knowledge of Payroll concepts such as earnings, deductions, taxes, calculations, retroactive processing, and Payroll business rules.\nExperience with the LPL framework/language is highly desirable.\nKnowledge of AI/Generative AI concepts and hands-on experience using AI development or productivity tools.\nExperience working in a SaaS or enterprise product development organization.\nRelevant Payroll or technology certifications are an
