This is an exciting time to join our established business as it undergoes a major transformation, driven by technology at the forefront of academic publishing.\nBased in our Technology hub in Bangalore, we are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Full Stack Engineer who can make timely, pragmatic technical decisions, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term maintainability, and ensuring steady progress without unnecessary complexity.\nKey Responsibilities\nSoftware Development & Technical Contribution\nWrite, review, and own production-quality code as an active contributor to the team's codebase; this is a technical, hands-on role\nChampion the use of AI-first software delivery approaches, leveraging AI tools and frameworks to enhance development efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and improve decision-making\nAdvocate for and implement modern engineering practices, such as Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)\nContribute to architectural decisions at the team and system level, balancing pragmatism with long-term maintainability\nDelivery & Collaboration\nHelp break down complex technical work into well-scoped, deliverable increments\nContribute as a strong technical contributor within the team, supporting technical discussions and decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QAs, product owners, architects, designers, and program management to clarify requirements, surface constraints, and align technical solutions with business goals\nWork closely with the Architecture Advice Forum through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to contribute to cross-team technical strategy, championing evolutionary architecture principles\nRemove technical blockers and escalate risks early to protect team delivery commitments\nBalance delivery pace with technical health - advocating for investment in test coverage, refactoring, and debt reduction\nQuality & Engineering Excellence\nChampion test-driven development (TDD), behaviour-driven development (BDD), and automated testing at all levels\nCollaborate with platform teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes\nContribute to the design and implementation of Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management\nEnsure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems are in place to maintain system reliability and performance\nPromote security-by-design and advocate for responsible handling of data and infrastructure\nCommunication and Stakeholder Engagement\nEffectively communicate technical concepts, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences\nParticipate in cross-functional discussions with stakeholders\nBuild trust with internal stakeholders through transparency about risk, progress, and technical decisions\nSkills & Experience\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\nDeep expertise in at least one modern programming language - JavaScript/Java with strong working knowledge of frontend/backend frameworks.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and principles (e.g., SOLID, microservices, event-driven architectures)\nExperience with AI tools, frameworks, platforms, and their application in software delivery\nExperience with cloud platforms (especially AWS services), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)\nHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks\nFamiliarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modelling\nFluency with XP practices: TDD, pair programming, continuous integration, refactoring\nWorking knowledge of security principles (secrets management, least privilege)\n You must have the right to work and live in India.\nLocation: The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model.
