We are seeking an experienced Principal AI Platform Architect to define and build the next generation of our AI platform and cloud-native application ecosystem. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for designing scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that enable AI-powered products, intelligent automation, and modern software development across the organization.
The ideal candidate is hands on technologist with extensive experience designing cloud-native applications and AI-enabled platforms. They understand how modern APIs, event-driven systems, orchestration frameworks, and agentic AI capabilities come together to create enterprise-scale solutions that are secure, observable, and operationally efficient.
This role partners closely with product leadership, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders to establish architectural direction, define platform standards, and guide the implementation of next-generation AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a scalable AI platform supporting LLMs, agentic workflows, and federated development across multiple teams
- Establish architectural standards for AI governance, security, evaluation strategies, and operational excellence
- Architect cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform supporting enterprise-scale workloads
- Define platform patterns for microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first design
- Build CICD pipelines that deploy automatically to the cloud while interfacing with legacy systems
- Provide architecture guidance and governance across engineering teams through reviews and standards
- Balance strategic platform vision with hands-on implementation to earn respect from engineering teams
- Enable teams to add new components, agents, and functionalities within the overarching platform
Required Qualifications & Technical Experience
- 10+ years designing and delivering enterprise software platforms with proven success at scale
- Strong GCP expertise - deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform services, semantics, and AI capabilities (Vertex AI preferred)
- AI platform experience building production systems that support product use cases, including agentic frameworks, LLMs, and orchestration
- Evaluation strategy experience - particularly building eval loops in production for monitoring and tuning AI systems (highly preferred)
- Event-driven architecture and distributed systems expertise with understanding of microservices and APIs
- Platform security and governance knowledge, including responsible AI practices
- Python proficiency (primary language for AI development), plus experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native tools
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence technical direction across multiple engineering organizations
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will:
- Establish the architectural vision for our enterprise AI platform.
- Define reusable cloud-native platform patterns supporting AI-enabled applications.
- Enable engineering teams through standardized platform capabilities and architectural guidance.
- Improve platform scalability, security, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Accelerate the adoption of AI capabilities while ensuring strong governance, reliability, and engineering quality.
