This is a highly visible role, partnering with operational and delivery leaders to provide commercial insight, strengthen forecasting accuracy, and drive business performance.\nYou will play a key role in ensuring the financial and commercial integrity of our projects, supporting decision-making through robust forecasting, billing, contract management, and business planning activities.\nWorking closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will help identify risks and opportunities, improve commercial performance, and ensure contractual and financial obligations are effectively managed.\nThis role offers flexibility to be based from our Altrincham Office (Manchester) where you’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team environment, supported by our hybrid working approach.\nRequirements\nCommercial Business Partnering\nFacilitate monthly commercial review meetings with key stakeholders to improve forecast quality, commercial decision-making, and business performance.\nProvide commercial insight and challenge to support effective business decisions and maximise project profitability.\nRepresent Finance in client and engagement meetings, acting as a trusted commercial adviser to delivery and operational teams.\nBuild strong working relationships across the business, including client counterparts and third-party partners where appropriate.\nForecasting & Business Planning\nLead the assurance of business pipeline and revenue forecasts, ensuring information is accurate, reliable and supports strategic decision-making.\nPartner with stakeholders to translate forecasts into actionable business plans.\nIdentify commercial risks and opportunities, developing mitigation plans and recommendations to improve performance.\nBilling, Revenue & Contract Management\nLead the month-end billing cycle, ensuring invoices accurately reflect contractual terms and all billable activity is captured.\nOwn and maintain the commercial contract register, proactively managing contractual obligations, renewal activity, risks and commercial opportunities.\nEnsure revenue recognition and invoicing activities are accurate, complete and supported by appropriate evidence.\nKey Responsibilities to the Project Accountancy Discipline\nChampion and actively contribute to and improve policies, standards, and guidelines through the OOM processes, based on experience and awareness of wider industry best practice and innovations.\nPlay a leading role in the ongoing development of the discipline, driving innovation, best practice adoption, and supporting leads to maintain an energised community of practitioners, taking a leading role in meetings and activities. Motivate and empower practitioners to create a positive and creative culture for our people to perform well, learn and grow.\nSupport the growth of Informed’s capability by helping to recruit staff (interviews, assessments), and contributing to InformedACADEMY© (masterclasses, training), shaping materials to achieve curriculum outcomes.\nProvide Practitioner Coaching for less experienced practitioners. \nAbout You\nYou'll be a qualified accountant with strong commercial acumen and a passion for partnering with the business to drive performance.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nRecognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).\nStrong commercial finance, project accounting or finance business partnering experience.\nProven ability to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively at all levels.\nExperience managing forecasts, budgets, revenue recognition and commercial reporting.\nStrong understanding of contract management and project financial controls.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.\nExperience supporting audits and operating within a robust governance framework.\nDesirable\nExperience within consultancy, professional services, engineering, technology or project-based environments.\nExperience leading process improvement initiatives and driving commercial best practice.\nPrevious mentoring or leadership experience within a finance function.\nKey abilities that are necessary for success\n\nAble to work effectively in environments where you can adapt to innovative practices involving uncertainty, change, and agile working.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and your time so you can deliver high-quality work within deadlines.\nGood interpersonal skills, with the ability to respect and accept different perspectives and disagreement, work collaboratively in diverse teams, and maintain positive working relationships.\nGood judgement and decision-making in complex environments where uncertainty, ambiguity, and risk must be collaboratively managed by working supportively alongside others.\nGood communication skills, including clear, constructive written outputs and measured, respectful verbal delivery.\nWe work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving innovation and problem-solving workplace environment where no two days are the same.
