Automation Tester

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Automation and Framework Development"

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium with Java for web application testing.
• Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks (e. g., Page Object Model, reusable utilities, reporting).
• Develop and maintain regression, smoke, and sanity automation suites aligned with release goals.
• Ensure test automation is stable, maintainable, and optimised for execution time and reliability.

Test Strategy and Execution:

• Analyse requirements and user stories to create test scenarios, test cases, and automation coverage plans.
• Perform functional, integration, and end-to-end validation with a strong focus on defect prevention.
• Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues quickly.

CI/CD and Collaboration:

• Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, provide quality status updates, and contribute to release readiness decisions.
• Maintain clear test documentation, execution reports, and actionable quality metrics for stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in software testing/quality engineering.
• 4-10 years of experience in Automation Testing with strong hands-on expertise in Selenium and Java.
• Solid understanding of test design techniques, SDLC/STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience creating maintainable automated test suites and ensuring consistent regression coverage.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot automation failures and application issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience using Java for test automation, utilities, or test data preparation.
• Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks with strong coding standards and reusable components.
• Familiarity with API testing and validating service-layer behaviour alongside UI automation.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD workflows and improving test execution efficiency.
• Proven ability to mentor peers, review automation code, and drive best practices across QA and engineering teams.
