This role is responsible for enabling, validating, operationalizing, and governing end to end technical and business data lineage across the bank’s data ecosystem, supporting regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and enterprise data transparency across Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Analytics domains.\nResponsibilities\nEnable and operationalize enterprise wide data lineage across critical banking platforms\nImplement lineage solutions using IBM MANTA and related lineage technologies\nDesign and validate end to end lineage for:\nApplication level, schema level, table level, and Critical Data Element (CDE) lineage\nSupport lineage coverage across:\nCore banking databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)\nETL and integration platforms (Informatica, Ab Initio, SAS)\nFile based and legacy systems (File systems, Hive, COBOL)\nBI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau)\nConfigure, tune, and optimize lineage scanners for large scale, complex data environments\nPartner with Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to support:\nRegulatory audits\nSupervisory exams\nModel risk management reviews\nValidate lineage accuracy for transformations, joins, aggregations, and regulatory data flows\nAnalyze and resolve broken, partial, or missing lineage and metadata gaps\nCollaborate with platform owners and data engineers to remediate upstream issues\nMaintain detailed runbooks, operational documentation, and knowledge artifacts\nAutomate lineage operations including scheduling and orchestration using Arena\nOptimize scan strategies to balance performance, coverage, and regulatory timelines\nEnable lineage publishing and integration with Alation Data Catalog\nAct as a key contributor in Agile delivery and platform governance forums\nTechnical requirements\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\n9-12 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Data Governance roles\nStrong hands on and design experience with data lineage platforms, including:\nIBM MANTA Data Lineage (preferred)\nAb Initio Data Lineage\nInformatica Data Lineage\nStrong understanding of:\nData governance and metadata management concepts\nTechnical and business data lineage\nETL / ELT architectures and batch processing frameworks\nAdvanced proficiency in SQL and data dependency analysis\nStrong programming skills in Python for automation and scripting\nWorking knowledge of GitLab and CI/CD pipelines\nExperience supporting hybrid (on prem + cloud) deployments in regulated environments\nExcellent communication skills with ability to work across technical and business stakeholders\nStrong documentation discipline and operational ownership mindset\nAdditional responsibilities\nNice to Have Skills\nExperience integrating lineage outputs with Alation Data Catalog\nExposure to GenAI and Agentic AI for metadata enrichment, lineage analysis, or governance automation\nFamiliarity with regulatory data management concepts (CDEs, RWA, regulatory reporting)\nExperience working in large banking or financial services organizations\nKnowledge of workflow orchestration and scheduling frameworks\nEducation\nBachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field\nPreferred skills\nDomain->Banking->Products->Mantas,Technology->Consulting -
