The Automation Engineer will work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, offshore support personnel, onshore developers, and management to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational transformation.\nResponsibilities\nIdentify and evaluate opportunities to automate batch processing and test environment support activities.\nDesign, develop, test, and implement automation solutions using REXX, JCL, COBOL, OPS/MVS, and Ansible.\nAutomate recurring data refresh processes and environment maintenance activities.\nDevelop automated monitoring, alerting, and recovery solutions for batch workloads.\nCreate automation workflows to reduce manual operational effort and improve service reliability.\nSupport and enhance workload scheduling and automation functions within ESP.\nDevelop scripts and tools to improve batch job management, reporting, and operational visibility.\nAnalyze existing support procedures and recommend automation opportunities.\nCollaborate with the Mainframe Automation and Performance team\nSupport CICS and DB2 application processes through automation and process optimization.\nAutomate KPI collection, reporting, dashboard generation, and operational metrics.\nAssist in root cause analysis and implement automated preventive solutions for recurring incidents.\nDevelop and maintain automation-related documentation, standards, procedures, and knowledge articles.\nParticipate in release planning and implementation activities to ensure automation solutions align with business requirements.\nPromote automation best practices and continuous improvement across the support organization.\nEvaluate emerging automation technologies and recommend improvements to current processes and tooling.\nTechnical requirements\nExperience supporting IBM z/OS mainframe environments.\nStrong hands-on experience with JCL and REXX development.\nExperience with mainframe batch processing and workload automation.\nExperience with ESP workload automation and scheduling.\nExperience with OPS/MVS automation solutions.\nExperience developing automation scripts and workflows.\nKnowledge of COBOL, CICS, and DB2 environments.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExperience troubleshooting complex operational and batch processing issues.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively across multiple technical teams.\nAdditional responsibilities\nExperience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible for z/OS.\nExperience with COBOL, JCL, Assembler, and EasyTrieve.\nExperience automating data refresh and environment management processes.\nExperience in creating automated operational reporting and KPI dashboards.\nKnowledge of ChangeMan and release management processes.\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.\nPreferred skills\nTechnology->Mainframe
