Responsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership & Delivery\nLead end-to-end development of Scala-based applications, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.\nOwn technical design, architecture decisions, and implementation strategy for key modules and services.\nDrive code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and ensure maintainable, testable codebases.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and convert them into robust technical solutions.\nScala Ecosystem & Framework Expertise\nBuild and enhance services using Scala and Play Framework, focusing on performance and scalability.\nImplement concurrency and resilience patterns using Akka where appropriate.\nManage builds and dependencies using SBT/Scala Build Tool, improving build reliability and speed.\nTroubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis with preventive actions.\nTeam Mentorship & Engineering Excellence\nMentor engineers, support skill development, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.\nGuide estimation, planning, and execution with a focus on predictable delivery and quality outcomes.\nPromote best practices for documentation, testing, and operational readiness.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBTECH, MTECH, MCA, or MSC in Computer Science or a related field.\n5-9 years of overall experience with strong hands-on Scala development experience.\nProven experience delivering applications using Scala with Play Framework and Akka.\nStrong working knowledge of SBT/Scala Build Tool for build, dependency, and release management.\nExperience leading technical delivery, conducting code reviews, and guiding engineering best practices.\nTechnical requirements\nGood to have skills:\nMicroservices, RESTful API design, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes\nAdditional responsibilities\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing scalable, fault-tolerant services and applying reactive/concurrency patterns effectively.\nStrong understanding of API design, performance tuning, and production readiness for Scala services.\nDemonstrated ability to mentor teams, drive technical alignment, and improve engineering processes.\nExperience improving CI/CD build pipelines and optimizing SBT workflows for faster feedback cycles.\nTrack record of collaborating across teams (product/QA/devops/architecture)
