We partner with our clients to identify their challenges and constantly look for ways to evolve our products to maximise their impact.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to manage end-to-end payroll processing for over 400 employees across multiple entities within a corporate environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations, supporting payroll-related accounting activities, and assisting with the administration of the company’s employee share scheme.\nThe Payroll Accountant will work closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to maintain data integrity, streamline processes, and provide a high level of service to all internal stakeholders.\nAbout you\nYou’re highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You communicate confidently, manage competing priorities effectively, and handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. You take a proactive approach to your work and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver practical outcomes.\nKey Roles and Responsibilities\nManage end-to-end payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting across salaries, awards, contractors, PAYG, superannuation and STP.\nPrepare, post and reconcile payroll journals, provisions and clearing accounts, supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audits.\nAdminister employee share and equity plans, including allocations, vesting, forfeitures, share-based payments, tax treatment and ESS reporting.\nEnsure compliance with payroll, tax and superannuation legislation, including preparing and lodging state-based Payroll Tax returns and annual Workers Compensation wage declarations.\nPartner with People & Culture, Finance, external administrators and tax advisors to resolve payroll queries, support employee lifecycle changes and maintain accurate records.\nDrive continuous improvement through payroll system automation, process efficiencies and strong data security, confidentiality and attention to detail.\nSkills, Knowledge and Experience:\nCertificate IV or Diploma Accounting or Finance (Degree preferred).\n3-5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll within a corporate or multi-entity environment (400+ employees).\nStrong understanding of Australian payroll, taxation, superannuation, and employment legislation.\nProven experience preparing and lodging Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation returns.\nExperience with general ledger postings and account reconciliations.\nExposure to employee share or equity plans highly regarded.\nWorking Excel skills and familiarity with payroll/HRIS systems.
