This individual will partner closely with functional consultants, mentor developers, guide solution architecture, and lead the design and delivery of Business Central extensions and integrations.\nThis role combines hands-on development with technical leadership and requires deep expertise in AL development, Business Central architecture, integration design, and software engineering best practices.\nSolution Design and Architecture\nPartner with Business Central functional consultants to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nCreate technical designs and architecture documentation for client review and development execution.\nLead architecture discussions for Business Central customizations, extensions, and integrations.\nEvaluate technical approaches and proactively identify scalability, maintainability, and performance concerns.\nDevelopment and Technical Leadership\nDesign, develop, and maintain Business Central extensions using AL.\nServe as the technical escalation point for complex development challenges.\nProvide mentorship, guidance, and troubleshooting support for junior and mid-level developers.\nPerform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.\nCollaborate with leadership to manage development priorities and release readiness.\nSupport and Problem Resolution\nDiagnose and resolve complex Business Central issues, including:\nPerformance optimization\nUpgrade and deployment challenges\nPosting and transactional errors\nData issues\nIntegration failures\nSupport ongoing client environments and contribute to long-term solution stability.\nProcess Improvement and Innovation\nContinuously improve development methodologies, release processes, and technical standards.\nEnhance source control, environment management, testing, and deployment practices.\nEvaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and code quality.\nContribute to the evolution of VetaTek's Business Central development practice.\nAI Tooling\nBecome the in-house expert for our AI-powered delivery ecosystem, maintaining and enhancing agentic workflows that automate the end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirements and design through build, test, and deployment.\nUnderstanding that tooling goes well past coding assistants: it’s a network of agentic workflows that carry a client request from requirements and design through build, test, and deployment. \nEvaluate, implement, and refine emerging AI tools and workflow enhancements to increase team productivity and accelerate client outcomes.\nContinuously optimize AI-driven development and build automation processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, quality, and delivery speed across client engagements.\nRequirements\n5+ years of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central development experience.\nExtensive hands-on experience developing Business Central solutions using AL.\nStrong understanding of Business Central functional areas, including General Ledger and Financial Management, Sales and Customer Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Management.\nExperience leading technical design discussions and gathering solution requirements directly from stakeholders.\nStrong knowledge of Business Central APIs, web services, and integration patterns.\nSolid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithmic efficiency, application architecture, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.\nExperience troubleshooting complex production environments.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience working for a Microsoft Partner or consulting organization.\nExperience with AL-Go for GitHub and/or Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with Business Central containers and BcContainerHelper.\nAppSource application development experience.\nMulti-tenant Business Central solution development.\nExperience integrating Business Central with Dynamics 365 Sales, Dataverse, Power Platform, and third-party applications.\nNAV to Business Central upgrade and migration experience.\nExperience using Application Insights, telemetry, and SQL performance tuning.\nMicrosoft Fabric, SQL, Azure development, or languages like C#/.NET, TypeScript, or Python \nBenefits\nBase salary range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. \n3% employer profit-sharing retirement contribution. \nCandidates must be authorized to work and reside in the United States.
