The role sets standards, manages site Shipping Supervisors, controls freight cost and claims, and works with plant leadership to keep material, yard space, and outbound loads moving safely and efficiently.\nKey Responsibilities\nShipping Leadership & Team Management\nSupervise and manage all location Shipping Supervisors, maintaining dotted-line communication with each location's Plant Manager.\nLead the hiring process for site-level shipping leaders.\nWork closely with the manufacturing sites to ensure optimal day-to-day management and strategic use of storage and yard space. \nStandardization & SOPs\nUpdate, and create where applicable, all shipping SOPs covering load configuration and securement.\nOwnership of Corporate Shipping Manual & Packaging Guide. \nDeploy existing SOPs to plants that do not yet have them, including uniform processes for inventory management and material handling. \nDrive packaging standardization across locations. \nOwn standard offerings, capabilities, and limitations, and maintain working knowledge of PIV capabilities and limitations. \nLead inventory process standardization and adherence across sites.\nFreight, Carrier & Claims Management\nManage carrier partners day to day, and lead RFQs when the company goes to bid using the shoppable shipping data.\nManage freight data across multiple partners.\nManage shipping claims for all locations.\nOptimize load management and shipping for Weholite / engineered products.\nCoordinate day-to-day operations with consignment customers.\nInventory\nOwn enterprise inventory count process and ensure standardization. \nSupport investigation and drive recovery of inventory variances in coordination with Plants & Finance. \nCustoms\nOwnership of day-to-day customs and trade compliance management. \nManage customs-related inquiries and escalations, resolving documentation discrepancies on incoming equipment, fittings, and intercompany tooling or equipment transfers in a timely manner. \nInvestigate and manage the impact of tariffs on freight and shipments, with a strategic view of cost exposure. \nTrack updates or changes to the tariff schedules for all common products moved cross-border. \nSystems & Technology\nSupport company-wide ERP users with training on the Shipping module. \nContinue to champion the use of barcode scanners. \nSafety & Continuous Improvement\nActively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment.\nActively support LEAN and 5S initiatives.\nPerform other projects and assignments as deemed necessary by management.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n>7 years of progressive experience in logistics, shipping, or distribution, ideally in manufacturing, including supervisory experience over multiple sites.\nWorking knowledge of load securement, flatbed/oversize freight, carrier management, and freight claims.\nFamiliarity with customs documentation and cross-border (US/Canada) shipments.\nExperience with ERP shipping modules and barcode/inventory systems.\nStrong analytical skills, including freight data and cost analysis.\nAbility to build working relationships with plant teams and influence without direct authority.\nLEAN / 5S experience preferred.\nWork Environment & Physical Demands\nTravel to all locations, 25-50% (higher at the outset to build relationships with each plant).\nTime in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and outdoor yard areas; must follow all site safety requirements and PPE rules.\n\nCOMPANY OVERVIEW\nInfra Pipes has over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and stormwater management applications.
