Relocation assistance may be available.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead Water Treatment Operations\nDirect and support plant operators during assigned shifts.\nAssist supervisory staff with reviewing operational data and plant performance.\nEnsure water treatment processes are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards.\nRespond to operational issues and make process adjustments as needed.\nOperate and Monitor Treatment Systems\nOperate pumps, valves, turbines, electric motors, and related equipment.\nRegulate water flow, pressure, and distribution throughout the treatment process.\nMonitor control panels, gauges, meters, and operating conditions.\nPerform backwashing and other system cleaning activities on scheduled intervals.\nRecord reservoir levels, power consumption, equipment utilization, and operational data.\nPerform Water Treatment & Laboratory Testing\nAdd and monitor treatment chemicals to disinfect, deodorize, clarify, and condition water.\nRegulate flow through sedimentation and filtration processes.\nCollect raw and treated water samples for testing.\nConduct laboratory analyses including:\npH\nChlorine residual\nFluoride residual\nTurbidity\nTotal coliform\nHardness\nAlkalinity\nAnalyze test results and make process control adjustments to maintain water quality standards.\nPrepare and maintain laboratory and operational reports.\nMaintain Equipment & Facilities\nCalibrate meters and testing equipment.\nInspect equipment and identify operational concerns before they become major issues.\nTransfer, handle, mix, and adjust chemical feed systems safely.\nMaintain treatment facilities, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.\nPerform housekeeping tasks including cleaning tanks, equipment, floors, and facility areas, as well as grounds maintenance.\nDocumentation & Compliance\nAccurately document readings, laboratory results, equipment adjustments, and process changes.\nEnter data into computerized systems and maintain required records.\nSupport QA/QC procedures and regulatory compliance efforts.\nAttend safety training and consistently follow all safety policies and procedures.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED. Advanced degree study in relevant subject preferred.\nSupervisory experience required.\nValid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements.\nFlorida Class A Water Treatment Plant Operator License or ability to receive through receprocity.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nKnowledge of\nWater treatment plant operations and well site operations.\nWater treatment flow schemes and treatment processes.\nLaboratory testing and analysis techniques.\nDisinfection and sedimentation processes.\nQA/QC procedures and documentation.\nSafety procedures, practices, and equipment.\nVertical turbine pumps, chemical metering pumps, centrifugal pumps, and related equipment.\nAbility to\nLead and direct work activities during assigned shifts.\nUnderstand and follow written and verbal instructions.\nCollect, interpret, and analyze operational data.\nPrepare reports, records, and logs accurately.\nPerform mathematical calculations.\nWork emergency call-outs and non-scheduled hours when needed.\nDistinguish between different shades of color for testing and operational purposes.\nWork Environment\nThis position is performed in an active treatment plant environment and may involve exposure to:\nExtreme temperatures\nWet or humid conditions\nDust, pollen, fumes, and odors\nLoud noise and vibration\nMoving mechanical equipment\nChemicals and treatment agents\nElectrical systems, heights, traffic, and environmental hazards\nAll safety standards, procedures, and protective equipment requirements must be followed at all times.\nPhysical Requirements\nThis is a physically demanding position that requires:\nFrequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and climbing.\nOperating tools, equipment, and testing instruments.\nRegular lifting of 50+ pounds.\nExerting up to 100 pounds of force when performing job duties.\nNormal visual acuity, depth perception, and hearing.\nCandidates must be willing and able to work overtime, emergency call-ins, weekends, holidays, and other non-standard schedules as operational needs
