This position is a hands-on leader who coordinates resources, provides training and mentorship to technicians, and ensures job sites operate smoothly from start to finish.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupervise daily activities of tower crews, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on all projects\nClimb and perform work on communication towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet, as required\nServe as a safety leader on-site, ensuring all crew members follow safety protocols and participate in meetings and briefings\nLead the installation, testing, and maintenance of antennas, radios, hybrid cables, connectors, and mounts\nInterpret construction documents and RF specifications; ensure accurate and complete installation per scope\nManage job site logistics, materials, schedules, and documentation\nPerform and oversee advanced testing and troubleshooting, including sweep, fiber, and PIM testing\nEnsure proper rigging and hoisting techniques are followed; inspect equipment and tools for safe use\nConduct quality assurance checks and ensure all work is completed according to customer and company standards\nSupervise the tracking of on-site inventory and materials, and refresh project supplies as needed\nMaintain and inspect rigging, hoisting, and climbing equipment to ensure proper use and safety\nMaintain open communication with management regarding job status, issues, and changes\nComplete required documentation accurately, including daily reports, job safety observations, quality checklists, and site photos\nMaintain and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles\nMaintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools, materials, and waste are properly handled and disposed of\nTrain, mentor, and evaluate tower technicians at all levels\nTravel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.\nEducation: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education\nExperience:\nFive years of experience in wireless tower construction, maintenance, or field services\nTwo years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role\nDemonstrated ability to lead crews and deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget\nCompetent Climber/Rescue Certification from an accredited institution\nOSHA 30 Construction Training Card\nFirst Aid and CPR Certification\nCompetent Rigging and Hoisting Certification\nOther relevant certifications may be required as per the scope of work being performed (i.e. NWSA Certification, Hazcom Certification, Blood Born Pathogen Certification, RF Safety Certification etc.)\nTechnical Skills:\nComputer and Microsoft Office proficiency\nExpert knowledge of wireless communication infrastructure and equipment, construction techniques, and safety protocols\nProficient in tower climbing, rigging, antenna and line installation, and advanced testing (sweep, fiber, PIM)\nAbility to interpret RF data, construction drawings and customer specifications\nProficient in the use of hand and power tools\nCompetence with GPS, test equipment, and site audit tools\nSoft Skills:\nStrong leadership, decision-making, and team building skills\nDetail oriented, with a focus on safety, quality, and accountability\nFollows safety protocols and installation procedures with accuracy and care, and requires others to do the same\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\nAbility to manage time and resources efficiently\nProven problem-solver with the ability to adapt to changing priorities on site\nAbility to lead, teach, train, and motivate staff\nEncourages continuous improvement and identifies areas for process enhancement\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing\nMust have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements\nAbility to climb vertically and pull one’s own body weight, along with necessary tools and equipment, up to 500 feet, and perform work at heights on towers and other elevated structures for extended periods\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly\nAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp materials and tools with both hands\nAbility to work long hours in outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, or snow\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time\nAbility to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection harness, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves\nAbility to climb and work at heights while wearing a safety harness, maintaining a total combined weight (which includes body weight, clothing, equipment, and tools) between 130 pounds and 310 pounds in accordance with industry fall protection standards\nMust be physically and mentally fit to perform tower rescues and participate in safety drills and training exercises\nComfortable working in confined spaces and at varying elevations\nAbility to work long and unpredictable hours\nAbility to travel away from home up to 75% of the time, including weekends and extended travel.
