This position works under the guidance of experienced tower technicians and foreman to develop the skills necessary for advancement in the field.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nClimb and perform work on communication towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet\nAssist with the installation and maintenance of antennas, radios, transmission lines, connectors, and mounts\nAssist with the assembly of various types of structures, including monopoles, self-support towers, and guyed towers\nUse hand and power tools to complete work at ground and elevated levels\nFollow Company and industry safety practices, including proper use of fall protection equipment\nAccurately complete timecards, safety checklists, and other documentation\nMaintain and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles\nMaintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools, materials, and waste are properly handled and disposed of\nSupport experienced tower technicians and foreman in all aspects of tower work\nTravel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.\nEducation: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education\nExperience:\nExperience in construction, climbing, or outdoor labor\nAbility to climb and work at heights safely and comfortably\nMust have or obtain and maintain documented Authorized Climber or Competent Climber/Rescue Certification from an accredited institution\nMust have or obtain and maintain OSHA 10 Construction Training Card\nMust have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification\nOther relevant certifications may be required per the scope of work being performed (i.e. Hazcom Certification, Blood Born Pathogen Certification, RF Safety Certificate\nTechnical Skills:\nComputer and Microsoft Office proficiency\nAbility to operate hand and power tools\nBasic knowledge of wireless communications systems and components\nAbility to use GPS and site audit tools\nSoft Skills:\nConsistently demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to completing work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality\nWorks effectively with crew members and foreman; supports a positive and collaborative work environment\nFollows safety protocols and installation procedures with accuracy and care\nIdentifies and communicates issues clearly with team members\nMaintains awareness of surroundings and safety risks while working at heights and with heavy equipment\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing\nMust have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements\nAbility to climb vertically and pull one’s own body weight, along with necessary tools and equipment, up to 500 feet, and perform work at heights on towers and other elevated structures for extended periods\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly\nAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp materials and tools with both hands\nAbility to work long hours in outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, or snow\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time\nAbility to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection harness, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves\nAbility to climb and work at heights while wearing a safety harness, maintaining a total combined weight (which includes body weight, clothing, equipment, and tools) between 130 pounds and 310 pounds in accordance with industry fall protection standards\nMust be physically and mentally fit to perform tower rescues and participate in safety drills and training exercises\nComfortable working in confined spaces and at varying elevations\nAbility to work long and unpredictable hours\nAbility to travel away from home up to 75% of the time, including weekends and extended travel.
