This position plays a key role in training team members, coordinating site activities, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nServe as the lead technician on site, directing daily crew operations, and ensuring adherence to scope, and safety and quality standards\nClimb and perform work on communication towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet\nPerform and oversee the installation, alignment, and troubleshooting of antennas, radios, hybrid cables, connectors, and mounts\nInterpret and ensure execution of construction drawings, site plans, and RF specifications\nPerform advanced testing and troubleshooting, including sweep testing, PIM testing, and fiber/connector inspections\nConduct quality assurance checks and ensure all work is completed according to customer and Company standards\nMaintain and inspect rigging, hoisting, and climbing equipment to ensure proper use and safety\nModel safe behavior on-site and ensure crew participation in all safety protocols, meetings, and briefings\nComplete required documentation accurately, including daily reports, quality checklists, and site photos\nMaintain and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles\nMaintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools, materials, and waste are properly handled and disposed of\nAssist the foreman in training, mentoring, and supporting less experienced team members in both technical skills and safety practices\nTravel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.\nEducation: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education\nExperience:\nThree to five years of progressive experience in wireless tower construction, maintenance, or field services\nExperience overseeing crews and supporting field operations\nProven ability to complete complex tower work independently and guide others\nCompetent Climber/Rescue Certification from an accredited institution\nMust have or obtain and maintain OSHA 30 Construction Training Card\nMust have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification\nMust have or obtain and maintain Competent Rigging and Hoisting Certification\nOther relevant certifications may be required per the scope of work being performed (i.e. NWSA Certification, Hazcom Certification, Blood Born Pathogen Certification, RF Safety Certification etc.)\nTechnical Skills:\nComputer and Microsoft Office proficiency\nAdvanced knowledge of wireless communication infrastructure and equipment\nProficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and RF engineering documents\nSkilled in sweep, fiber, and PIM testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization\nProficient in the use of hand and power tools\nCompetence with GPS, test equipment, and site audit tools\nSoft Skills:\nStrong leadership and decision-making skills\nFollows safety protocols and installation procedures with accuracy and care, and requires others to do the same\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\nWorks effectively with crew members and foreman; supports a positive and collaborative work environment\nAbility to manage time and resources efficiently\nAbility to think analytically and solve complex problems\nMaintains awareness of surroundings and safety risks while working at heights and with heavy equipment\nEncourages continuous improvement and identifies areas for process enhancement\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing\nMust have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements\nAbility to climb vertically and pull one’s own body weight, along with necessary tools and equipment, up to 500 feet, and perform work at heights on towers and other elevated structures for extended periods\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly\nAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp materials and tools with both hands\nAbility to work long hours in outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, or snow\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time\nAbility to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection harness, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves\nAbility to climb and work at heights while wearing a safety harness, maintaining a total combined weight (which includes body weight, clothing, equipment, and tools) between 130 pounds and 310 pounds in accordance with industry fall protection standards\nMust be physically and mentally fit to perform tower rescues and participate in safety drills and training exercises\nComfortable working in confined spaces and at varying elevations\nAbility to work long and unpredictable hours\nAbility to travel away from home up to 75% of the time, including weekends and extended travel.
