You will combine hands-on database expertise with automation, engineering practices and close collaboration with development and infrastructure teams to keep our critical data services stable today while continuously improving how we operate them.\n\nDatabase Engineering & Lifecycle Management\nOwn SQL Server environments end to end, covering installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting and lifecycle management.\nEnsure database reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, capacity management, query optimisation and performance tuning.\nManage database changes safely, ensuring schema, configuration and release changes are controlled, traceable and repeatable.\nProvide database expertise to engineering teams, supporting SQL design, performance, deployments and resolution of complex production issues.\nProduction Ownership (\"You Build It, You Run It\")\nTake ownership of services throughout their entire lifecycle, from development to production operations.\nMonitor server health, investigate incidents, troubleshoot production issues, and lead root cause analysis activities.\nImprove observability, alerting, of experience as a SQL database admin\nTech stack/ knowledge:\nMandatory:Strong experience with database administration in Microsoft SQL Server and ability to fine tune database models and data intensive operations\nStrong experience with implementing high-availability DB environments (like MS SQL Server Always-On)\nSolid hands-on proficiency in T-SQL, including the ability to independently write, analyze, and optimize queries and stored procedures, interpret execution plans, and troubleshoot query performance issues\nStrong knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell\nGood knowledge of source control, CI/CD and documentation tools (Azure DevOps, Git, Confluence) and ability to define CI/CD pipelines and manage DevOps related activities during software development lifecycle\nExperience with scheduling tools and related concepts\nExperience with exposing meaningful metrics to have proper monitoring and alerting using tools like Grafana, Prometheus\nAbility to perform database profiling to better understand and fine tune the DB engine\nStrong analytical skills, proactivity, and ability to work in a cross-border international team\nAbility to think critically, take initiative and act as a problem solver\nProven experience in a DevOps team (owning, implementing, and managing applications in scope\nExcellent Stakeholder Management skills\nStrong
